The Role
JoVE is hiring a Senior HR Business Partner to lead HR operations for our international teams across Europe and North America. You will own the core people programs that power our growth: workforce planning, onboarding, payroll and compensation, and performance management.
As a strategic partner to leadership, you will turn business priorities into scalable HR practices. Your work will help JoVE build strong teams, develop its people and grow with confidence across every market we operate in.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department leaders and drive workforce planning and organizational design, using HR data to spot issues early and put solutions in place.
- Manage and continuously optimize our onboarding process for new hires across locations, from offer to first 90 days.
- Lead the performance review cycles and coach managers on goal setting, feedback, performance improvement and team issues.
- Own end-to-end payroll and ensure accurate, on-time pay and clean monthly reconciliations.
- Build and maintain salary bands and compensation ranges using market benchmarking, and advise leaders on offers, promotions and pay decisions.
- Manage and continuously improve benefits programs across countries, balancing local market practices, statutory requirements and cost.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers, answering questions and handling employee matters, investigations and difficult conversations with sound judgment.
- Ensure compliance with employment law and regulations across all countries, and update policies, contracts and handbooks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
- 5+ years as an HR Business Partner or in a similar role at technology-based companies
- Hands-on experience managing HR operations for international employee groups, especially in Europe and North America
- Proven ownership of multi-country payroll and benefits administration
- Experience building compensation ranges or salary bands
- Strong working knowledge of employment compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience driving excellence across onboarding, performance management, employee relations and compliance
- Self-driven and proactive, with strong attention to detail
