The posting

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and solutions-oriented Senior IT Tech to join a growing IT services team supporting a U.S.-based organization. In this role, you will handle advanced technical support, manage network and cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot complex IT issues, and strengthen cybersecurity practices. You will also contribute to IT projects, automation initiatives, and the professional development of junior technicians. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Duties / Task to perform

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Level 3 technical issues escalated by junior technicians, including network failures, server issues, software problems, and security incidents.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot networking infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless networks.
  • Manage Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and virtualization environments.
  • Administer and support cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Monitor system performance, identify potential problems, and implement preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct cybersecurity assessments, investigate security threats, and implement security solutions such as MFA, encryption, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, perform recovery testing, and support business continuity planning.
  • Lead technical projects, including server deployments, infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and network improvements.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
  • Configure and optimize Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools for proactive system maintenance and monitoring.
  • Explore AI-powered tools for system monitoring, cybersecurity, automation, and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to resolve technical issues and support infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and IT reports.
  • Communicate technical issues and recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, provide technical guidance, and share best practices.
  • Support IT compliance, risk assessments, and structured change-management processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in advanced IT technical support, systems administration, or a similar senior-level IT role.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls and network security appliances, such as Cisco, Palo Alto, or SonicWall.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and MFA.
  • Experience with backup, storage, and disaster recovery solutions, including Veeam, Acronis, Synology, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with RMM tools such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, or N-able.
  • Scripting and automation knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes and implement long-term technical solutions.
  • Ability to manage technical escalations, coordinate with vendors, and prioritize critical issues.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to support and mentor junior IT technicians.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered monitoring, cybersecurity, and automation technologies.
