Job Role: Senior MSP Technical Lead / Solutions Architect

Work Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM–5:30 PM AEST (with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)

Work Setup: Initially fully remote, with the potential to transition to a hybrid setup in Metro Manila (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) in the future if an office is established.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an established Australian IT services provider that helps businesses keep their technology secure, reliable, and ready to grow. They support clients across IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and ongoing technical support, while also helping them plan and deliver technology projects. With a focus on proactive IT management rather than simply fixing problems when they arise, they work closely with businesses to improve their systems, reduce risks, and make technology work better for the organisation.

Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior MSP Technical Lead / Solutions Architect who is already operating as a senior technical authority within an established MSP environment.

This is a hands-on role covering solution architecture, technical account management, project delivery, infrastructure, cybersecurity and complex L3 escalations across multiple client environments.

The role involves working directly with clients, leading technical projects, supporting and mentoring engineers, and managing complex technical matters across multiple accounts with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Client Management

  • Act as the senior technical authority across multiple client environments.
  • Provide technical account management and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Understand client requirements, provide technical recommendations and translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • Lead and mentor L1, L2 and L3 engineers, providing technical direction on complex matters.
  • Manage multiple clients, priorities and technical issues with minimal oversight.

Solution Architecture & Infrastructure

  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions across Microsoft, cloud, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity environments.
  • Work hands-on across Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, networking, firewalls, backup and security.
  • Assess existing client environments and recommend improvements to security, resilience, performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure solutions are appropriately designed, documented and aligned with client requirements.

Project Delivery

  • Own technical projects from discovery and scoping through implementation, testing and handover.
  • Develop implementation plans, coordinate technical resources and manage dependencies.
  • Manage project risks, timelines and competing priorities across multiple client environments.
  • Ensure successful handover into ongoing support.

L3 Escalations

  • Take ownership of complex L3 escalations across infrastructure, cloud, networking, Microsoft and cybersecurity.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and determine the appropriate resolution based on urgency and business impact.
  • Delegate or escalate where appropriate while maintaining ownership through to resolution.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend longer-term solutions.

Security & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify security risks and recommend appropriate controls and improvements across client environments.
  • Support cybersecurity projects, remediation and ongoing security initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery through automation, scripting and better technical processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant IT experience, including senior technical leadership within an MSP environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, networking, firewalls, backup and cybersecurity.
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end solutions across complete client environments.
  • Experience owning and managing technical projects from discovery and scoping through implementation, testing and handover.
  • Strong L3 escalation and complex troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience providing technical account management across multiple clients.
  • Experience leading and mentoring L1, L2 and L3 engineers.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance technical solutions with client and business requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients, projects and competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Proactive approach to identifying technical risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience with PSA/RMM platforms such as ConnectWise, Autotask or Halo is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with IT Glue, Huntress, ThreatLocker and other cybersecurity platforms is advantageous.
  • Automation and scripting experience is advantageous.
  • Flexible to a future hybrid setup in Metro Manila.

  • Support and develop other technical staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how the business delivers technical services.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This role will initially be fully remote through an Employer of Record (EOR) service, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid setup in the future, based in Ortigas.
