We are seeking a minimum 15 years of dedicated hands-on experience designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise network architectures within Department of Defense (DoD) mission environments. You will serve as the technical authority for secure routed and switched campus networks, cross-domain enclaves, DISA circuits, and tactical-to-strategic integration, ensuring strict alignment with DISA STIGs and NIST cybersecurity controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, configure, and maintain high-availability Layer 2/3 local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN/CAN) across RDT&E, NIPR & SIPR.
  • Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VRFs, MPLS, VXLAN, and IPsec/DMVPN overlays.
  • Perform hard security baseline implementation using DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).
  • Oversee network device accreditation and support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization (A&A) process.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and harden next-generation firewalls and network access control systems (Cisco ISE / 802.1X).
  • Interface directly with DISA, military leadership, and prime contractors to resolve circuit escalations, ASI (Authorized Service Interruptions), and mission-critical network incidents.
  • Mentor mid-level engineers, review engineering change proposals (ECPs), and maintain precise as-built diagrams (Visio) and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive network engineering experience, with substantial focus within DoD, intelligence, or defense contractor environments.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: Current, unexpired DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+, GCIH, CISA, CCNP Security, CCSP or GCED).
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • Security Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance to start.
  • Technical Breadth: Deep expertise in enterprise-grade routing/switching platforms (Cisco Catalyst/Nexus).
  • Compliance & Hardening: Practical experience using SCAP tools, Nessus/ACAS scanning reports, and STIG Viewer to remediate network findings.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (substantial relevant DoD experience may substitute).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with software-defined networking (Catalyst Center, SD-WAN, Cisco ACI).
  • Working knowledge of cloud transit architectures (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) connecting via DoD Cloud Access Points (CAP) or BCAP.
  • Prior experience configuring and maintaining enterprise monitoring platforms.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
