About RA

Resident Advisor has been a home for electronic music culture since 2001. Event discovery, ticketing, news and long-form editorial, artist profiles, original films, and a weekly mix series two decades deep. Around 7 million people use the web platform every month, with a wider audience across our apps and other channels. Underneath the platform sits a network of contributors and city managers across dozens of cities, which is how we stay connected to the scenes we cover rather than reporting on them from a distance. RA is 25 years old, independent, B.Corp certified and intent on being indispensable to the artists, promoters and audiences who make this culture.

The Senior Partnerships Lead - North America owns RA's commercial performance across the USA, Canada and Mexico, our fastest-growing region. The role is accountable for the region's new business, re-signs and media revenue, and for the ticket volume those partnerships generate.

This position carries both a book of business and responsibility for leading a team. The Senior Partnerships Lead personally manages RA's most strategically valuable venue, promoter and festival relationships and closes the anchor partnerships that open new markets. They will also line manage Partnerships Managers across New York, Chicago, Mexico City and the West Coast, plus the Promoter Support Coordinator.

Working closely with the regional manager, General Manager and Director of Revenue, the role will develop the Revenue team, set the strategy required to attain targets, coach colleagues through deals and build clear progression pathways. Team development is a core part of the role, not an adjunct to it.

Responsibilities

Commercial ownership

Own the North American revenue number across new business, re-signs and media for the USA, Canada and Mexico

Deliver against the annual new business target and regional ticket-volume goal, carrying individual as well as team targets

Close anchor venue, promoter-group and festival partnerships that open or transform markets

Personally manage RA's largest and most strategically valuable North American partners

Own re-sign strategy and execution across the core book, landing renewals before expiry and establishing documented save plans for at-risk accounts

Grow media and advertising revenue with consistent month-to-month pacing, working closely with Ad Ops to deliver data-driven results

Team leadership

Line manage Partnerships Managers across New York, Chicago, Mexico City and the West Coast, plus the Promoter Support Coordinator

Set and manage individual targets, quotas and territory allocation across the team

Coach colleagues through live deals, including pricing, structure and negotiation, and join client conversations where seniority adds value

Own progression and development for the team

Strategy and market development

Contribute to annual North America strategy and revenue planning alongside the General Manager and Director of Revenue

Build the region's understanding of the competitive landscape, including ticketing platforms, promoter consolidation and regulatory shifts, and translate it into commercial positioning

Represent North American commercial needs to Product, Revenue and Support, advocating for the changes the market requires

Support festival partnerships and regional RA events

Operating rhythm

Run a weekly North American commercial cadence covering pipeline and forecast, with the CRM as the single source of truth

Deliver forecast accuracy within a tight tolerance and maintain strong pipeline hygiene, ensuring every open deal has a clear stage, close date and value

Maintain qualified pipeline coverage at the required multiples of target ahead of each quarter

Who we are looking for

Embedded in the North American electronic music scene, with an existing network across promoters, venues, festivals and agencies

A genuine passion for and understanding of electronic music culture and the industry that surrounds it

At least five years' experience in sales, partnerships or account management, with a track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets

At least two years' people-management experience, including setting targets, coaching, developing colleagues and holding a team accountable

Demonstrable experience closing complex, multi-year partnership deals and negotiating commercial terms

Strong commercial instincts and confidence with pricing, deal structure, margin and forecasting

Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship-building and client-service skills

A disciplined approach to CRM and pipeline management

Based in, or willing to relocate to, New York, with willingness to travel across the region

Advantageous

Comprehensive staff wellbeing initiatives, featuring regular activities and workplace programmes to support mental and physical health. This includes discounted ClassPass memberships and custom-fitted earplugs.

Company-led social events, team lunches and discounts on RA merch.

Paid annual volunteering allowance, encouraging contributions to community projects and charities you care about.

Regular company-wide Q&As with senior leadership, along with ongoing virtual educational training sessions for all staff.

A transparent internal company culture committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (see: https://ra.co/about/diversity).

Active involvement in community projects within the electronic music community (see: https://ra.co/about/community).

More about RA

We are independent and we intend to stay that way. 25 years in, RA answers to the culture it came from rather than to outside stakeholders. That is what enables us to make decisions on a longer term basis.

Our staff, contributors and international teams are not observers. They are part of the scenes we cover, and that is what we hire for. Craft first, and then a genuine stake in this music rather than just a job in it.

RA has been B Corp certified since 2024, which holds us to standards on social and environmental impact we would want to meet regardless of the badge.

We especially welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, experiences, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We aim for our team to reflect the communities we engage with.

Our values

Electronic music is art.

We celebrate the progressive values that underpin electronic music.

We advocate for a more inclusive and equitable electronic music community.

We honour the past, present and future of electronic music.

We use innovation to empower the community.

We choose honesty over gain and purpose over profit.

We're always front left.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
