The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to provide technical leadership for automation across QA and partner engineering teams. This role is focused on complex test automation, testing infrastructure, developer productivity, and release confidence.

The Senior Software Engineer in Test owns end-to-end automation for complex features, helps shape technical direction for the automation team, and serves as a trusted quality partner to engineering teams. This role is responsible for improving the reliability of CI/CD signals while raising standards for testability and maintainable automation.

This role does not require direct people management. The impact comes through technical judgment, delivery, code review, mentoring, and influence across QA and engineering.

You Will

  • Develop and maintain scalable automated tests and frameworks for complex, high-value workflows.
  • Lead automation strategy, test planning, and coverage for complex features.
  • Improve testing infrastructure, test data, reporting, CI/CD pipelines, and test stability.
  • Build automation tools and internal services that improve QA and developer productivity.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to streamline QA processes, reduce repetitive work, and improve test analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering teams early to improve testability, risk coverage, and release confidence.
  • Apply sound judgment when selecting test types and automation targets.
  • Accurately identify edge cases, security concerns, performance risks, and failure modes.
  • Lead complex projects from planning through delivery and serve as a subject matter expert for core testing platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews, contribute to technical decisions, and uphold automation and coding standards.
  • Mentor engineers to upskill the team, strengthen capability, and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Apply strong sprint-process knowledge to support current priorities and long-term team goals.

Requirements

You Have

  • 7+ years of experience in software development and writing automated tests.
  • Significant software development skills in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, efficient, modular code and conduct code reviews.
  • Passionate about writing code that improves reliability, catches bugs early, and contributes to high-velocity, high-quality software delivery.
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, with hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale automation suites.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines and integrating test automation within them.
  • In-depth knowledge of test design, development, and execution, with the ability to implement best practices in test automation.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues in both production and test environments.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) for test environments.
  • Experience working in agile environments, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure stable releases
  • Proven experience mentoring team members and upskilling engineers.

  • Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurances for you and any dependents, with policy premiums covered by the Company
  • Fully Remote Optional
  • Long & Short term disability insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Annual Year-End Company Closure
  • Optional 401k with 5% matching

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
