Seeking in-home tutor in Social Science (Economics, Political Science, Business Studies)

If you are a teacher, an experienced tutor, or an undergraduate student willing to learn we are keen to hear from you at Tutor Doctor. You must live, work or study in the UK.

You don’t need a specific teaching qualification - though it is desirable - we find that subject experts get equally good results with our support.

Tutor Doctor is a local business that is part of the Global Tutor Doctor network. We help people reach their full academic potential with one-to-one education in the student's home and also online. This is an opportunity to earn extra income, outside the traditional working hours, while also doing something that makes a real difference to a students life.

At Tutor Doctor you will find a supportive team willing to share teaching resources and tutoring advice.

You may already be a tutor, a student, or a smart professional, but if you want to make a difference and help educate another generation, we want to hear from you today. To join Tutor Doctor please fill out the form below and upload your CV.

We are looking for the tutor to work with families in Buckinghamshire and nearby.

Requirements

  • You live/work in or very near to South Buckinghamshire
  • You are eligible to work in the UK and are over 19 years of age
  • You have an up to date DBS (this is essential, if required we can help you apply for this).
  • You are fluent in English
  • You have appropriate qualifications in the subjects
  • You are willing to travel to clients: up to 25 minutes away from your base
  • degree, studying for a degree (2nd or 3rd year), or a teaching qualification
  • genuinely care about supporting others and helping them learn

If this sounds like you, we would welcome you on our team of in-home tutors!

Benefits

As a self-employed tutor, you choose which students you want to accept, and your own hours. Yet, you have the backing of a reputable agency that does not simply make introductions, but can also offer guidance on the curriculum and materials to ensure you are fully prepared.

All Tutor Doctor clients have been interviewed and vetted by ourselves, so tutoring is safe and that tutees and parents are committed to having a tutor. We handle all contracts, give you long-term assignments, pay you monthly and on time. Hourly rates are £20 - £30 according to experience, qualifications, and the level you will be teaching. Slightly higher rates would be considered for exceptionally well qualified, highly experienced candidates.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
