Jouw week als Software Service Engineer

Geen week is hetzelfde als Software Service Engineer bij LAN. De ene week ondersteun je klanten op afstand vanuit kantoor, de andere week reis je naar een klant om een software-upgrade door te voeren of een complexe storing op te lossen.

Je week start vaak met het bekijken van de servicemeldingen. Een klant in Frankrijk heeft een vraag over een software-aanpassing, terwijl bij een installatie in de Verenigde Staten een storing is ontstaan. Jij logt op afstand in, analyseert de situatie en zorgt ervoor dat de productielijn zo snel mogelijk weer operationeel is. Als eerste aanspreekpunt voor softwaregerelateerde vragen weten klanten jou altijd te vinden. Daarnaast werk je aan software-upgrades en verbeteringen voor bestaande LAN-installaties. Je ontwikkelt en test softwarewijzigingen, stemt af met collega's van Engineering en zorgt ervoor dat aanpassingen soepel worden geïmplementeerd zonder onnodige stilstand bij de klant.

Gedurende de week verzorg je een training voor operators, onderhoudstechnici en servicepartners. Je helpt gebruikers het maximale uit onze systemen te halen en zorgt ervoor dat zij zelfstandig en efficiënt met de software kunnen werken.

Een belangrijk deel van je werkweek breng je door bij klanten op locatie. Je controleert installaties, voert software-optimalisaties door en begeleidt lokale servicepartners bij hun werkzaamheden. Loopt iets anders dan verwacht? Dan schakel jij snel, neem je beslissingen en zorg je voor een passende oplossing. Tegelijkertijd signaleer je kansen om installaties verder te verbeteren. Je bespreekt aanbevelingen met klanten en koppelt jouw bevindingen terug aan het Service- en Engineeringteam.

Geen week is hetzelfde. De ene week werk je aan remote support en softwareverbeteringen vanuit kantoor, de andere week ben je onderweg naar klanten ergens ter wereld om installaties te optimaliseren. Juist die combinatie van techniek, vrijheid, reizen en klantcontact maakt deze functie zo uitdagend.

Hoe jij dingen in beweging krijgt:

  • Enkele jaren ervaring binnen een serviceomgeving in de machinebouw of industriële automatisering;
  • Kennis van industriële besturingssystemen en servotechniek;
  • Ervaring met robotbesturingen zoals KUKA, FANUC of ABB en ervaring met PLC-systemen, bijvoorbeeld Siemens, Rockwell of B&R;
  • Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal;
  • Basiskennis van ERP-systemen, bij voorkeur Isah;
  • Een zelfstandige, klantgerichte en oplossingsgerichte instelling.
