A leading Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Specialist / Consultant – Pediatric Surgery to join its specialized surgical team.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, managing a broad spectrum of congenital, developmental, and acquired surgical conditions. The role offers an opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary hospital environment with access to advanced surgical and critical care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage pediatric surgical conditions from infancy through adolescence.
- Perform elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures, including minimally invasive procedures where appropriate.
- Manage congenital anomalies, gastrointestinal conditions, abdominal disorders, and other pediatric surgical conditions.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessment and develop individualized surgical plans.
- Deliver appropriate post-operative care and monitor patients for complications.
- Participate in neonatal and pediatric emergency surgical care when required.
- Work closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, anesthetists, intensivists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to patient-safety and clinical governance standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, teaching, quality improvement, and continuing medical education.
Requirements
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery / Paediatric Surgery.
- Relevant Specialist or Consultant-level clinical experience.
- Candidates with UK CCT, Western qualifications, American Board, Australian Board, or German Board are encouraged to apply.
- Strong experience in pediatric and neonatal surgical procedures.
- Experience in minimally invasive pediatric surgery is desirable.
- Excellent clinical judgment, surgical skills, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Previous experience in a tertiary, teaching, or government hospital is advantageous.
