Team Overview:

The Data Transformation Initiatives (DTI) team leads the Enterprise Data Ops and Technology’s (EDOT) major data modernization programs, helping EDC build modern, scalable, and sustainable enterprise data capabilities. Working closely with business partners and teams across EDOT, DTI delivers strategic initiatives that improve how data is governed, integrated, managed, and consumed across the organization.

DTI's portfolio includes initiatives that modernize EDC's data ecosystem, retire legacy technologies, improve data quality and accessibility, and establish enterprise data management capabilities.

About the Role:

As a member of the DTI team, the Senior Data Analyst acts as a liaison between business and technical communities to develop data solutions that support business needs. You will elicit, analyze, communicate, validate and translate data requirements into clear communications, Agile work items—including epics, features, stories and tasks—and other documentation.

You will apply advanced data modelling and analysis techniques to build and maintain transformation rules and source-to-target mappings. Working closely with clients, you will examine business rules and data transformation requirements, document new data needs, and contribute to the design of new data integration streams or updates to existing data pipelines.

As an active member of an Agile team, you will participate throughout the product lifecycle and collaborate with squad members, technology stakeholders and internal customers. Success in this role requires strong digital and IT knowledge, the ability to learn new solutions quickly, adaptability, excellent communication and analytical skills, and strong relationship-management capabilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Understand client requirements and translate them into technical terms and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams, Business Analysts, Data Architects and Data Engineers to develop solution approaches.
  • Review and recommend conceptual, logical and physical data models for alignment with architectural principles and optimal solution design.
  • Research and document data platforms and outputs, including source-to-target mappings, data transformation rules, data cataloguing and data lineage.
  • Analyze system data elements and existing structures, trace data lineage from source to target, and support efficient data flow among users and stakeholders.
  • Apply end-to-end data process knowledge to analyze, cleanse and enrich data, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collect, organize, analyze and share complex information with precision, and explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
  • Lead data-requirements sessions and present complex issues using persuasion, influence, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to build consensus.
  • Produce clear, usable documentation that supports sign-off and can be used by technical project members.
  • Participate in sprint reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement and other sprint-based activities.

What we are looking for:

  • An undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, Business or a related field.
  • At least seven years of dedicated Data Analyst experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Broad experience across the data lifecycle, with hands-on expertise in dimensional and relational data modelling, data quality, SQL programming, ETL development, metadata management and master data management.
  • Experience reverse-engineering source-to-target mappings to generate data insights.
  • Ability to produce ETL specifications based on physical data models.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical audiences and listen actively.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience with Azure Data Platform technologies and Databricks.
  • Experience with data modelling technologies such as Erwin.
  • Knowledge of Spark SQL.
  • Programming experience with SQL, R or Python.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, time-management, priority-planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong relationship-management skills, including facilitating group sessions and demonstrating leadership within a project team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and adapting to changing business priorities.
  • Bilingualism in both official languages—French and English.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
