Description

A&L Goodbody's Structured Finance & Capital Markets Group advises leading domestic and international financial institutions, investment managers, corporate issuers, arrangers, originators and investors on complex financing transactions across a broad range of asset classes and structures.

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Senior Associate to join our market-leading team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions involving securitisations, structured finance products, capital markets issuances, fund financing arrangements and other innovative financing structures.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing transactions, maintaining client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Advising Irish banks and non-bank lenders on the securitisation of residential mortgage portfolios, auto loan portfolios and other asset-backed transactions.
  • Advising international banks, financial institutions and corporate clients on a wide range of structured finance transactions involving Irish “Section 110” companies.
  • Advising private equity funds, hedge funds, credit funds and other institutional investors on the establishment of direct lending platforms and a broad range of credit and financing transactions.
  • Advising managers, arrangers and investors on CLO transactions and related financing structures.
  • Developing innovative structuring solutions for private equity sponsors, institutional credit providers and asset managers, often collaborating closely with specialist teams across Investment Funds, Tax, Corporate and Regulatory practices.
  • Advising on a wide variety of fund finance transactions, including subscription line, NAV and hybrid facilities.
  • Providing strategic advice on regulatory considerations affecting structured finance and capital markets transactions in conjunction with colleagues in our Financial Regulatory Group.
  • Taking an active role in client relationship management, business development initiatives, mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the continued growth and success of the practice.

Background and Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor
  • Have significant post-qualification experience, typically 5+ years PQE, gained in a leading law firm with a strong finance practice.
  • Possess demonstrable experience advising on structured finance, securitisation, debt capital markets, fund finance or related financing transactions.
  • Have strong technical, drafting and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities effectively.
  • Display excellent commercial judgement and a client-focused approach.
  • Be capable of managing workstreams independently while collaborating effectively within larger transaction teams.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Be ambitious, proactive and enthusiastic, with a desire to build a long-term career within a leading international law firm.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
