Immanuel Christian Elementary School - Grade 3 Teacher

FTE: 0.5 – Temporary

The expected start date of the position is October 14, 2026, and it is anticipated to complete on June 29, 2027.

The School

Immanuel Christian Elementary School serves approximately 240 students and offers an Alternative Program in accordance with the Alberta Education Act within Lethbridge School Division. Our school is operated through a partnership between the Society for Christian Education in Southern Alberta and the Lethbridge Division School Board.

We offer a distinctively Christian program, based on the foundation of our school’s Deep Hope: Equipping Learners, Nurturing Faith and Flourishing in Community, that:

  • Integrates faith, learning and service into the entire curriculum and program;

Subjects

Immanuel Christian Elementary School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Grade 3 Teacher! The successful candidate be responsible to teach English Language Arts and Math in a grade 3 classroom. Candidates will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who has the following attributes:

  • An understanding of early literacy and numeracy;
  • A wide variety of differentiated instructional and assessment practices;
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • An understanding of Christian Education;
  • The ability to integrate the school's Christian mission and vision within the subject materials.

Requirements

  • Applicants must posses or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
  • Applicants are required to submit a philosophy of Christian Education as part of their application.
  • Applicants must provide one reference for their current pastor.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
