About the role

Imagine this. You are building the technical documentation that keeps advanced aerospace systems operating safely, efficiently, and throughout their entire lifecycle. As our Technical Documentation / S1000D Specialist, you will become the reference point for technical publications across multiple defense and aerospace programs, ensuring that every manual, maintenance procedure, and technical publication meets the highest industry standards. From implementing S1000D methodologies to supporting Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals and technical data governance, your work will directly support engineers, operators, customers, and mission success.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

Working closely with Engineering, Configuration Management, Integrated Logistics Support, and Program teams, you will help establish and continuously improve our technical publications capability while contributing to the development of documentation processes that support products from design through operational service.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and manage technical documentation following S1000D standards.
  • Establish and continuously improve the company's technical publications capability.
  • Create and maintain operator manuals, maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, and other technical publications.
  • Manage documentation updates, revisions, and change control throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ensure consistency between engineering data, configuration baselines, and technical documentation.
  • Support the implementation and management of Common Source Databases and technical authoring environments.
  • Review, validate, and verify documentation produced by internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, ILS, and Configuration Management teams to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Support customer reviews, audits, qualification activities, and documentation acceptance processes.
  • Contribute to engineering change management and configuration control activities.
  • Develop and improve documentation standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support proposal and bid activities by preparing technical publications and support documentation deliverables.

Requirements

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, Aerospace, Defence, Logistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience developing technical documentation using S1000D standards.
  • Experience working with Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals and documentation lifecycle management.
  • Good understanding of configuration management principles.
  • Experience working with technical publications in highly regulated industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience with Common Source Databases and XML based documentation environments is considered a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to aerospace, UAV, defence, or military programs is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support principles is considered a plus.
  • Additional European languages are an advantage.

Who You Are

You enjoy bringing structure to complex technical information and understand that accurate documentation is just as important as the engineering behind the product. You are naturally curious, eager to learn, and motivated by building processes that improve quality and consistency.

You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams, and pay close attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. In a fast moving environment, you stay organized, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and enjoy helping establish new ways of working as the company continues to grow.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
