The posting

We are looking for a Psychology Teacher for a University based in Shanghai. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year in September 2026.

About the school

Approved by the Ministry of Education in 2005, this institution is among Shanghai’s first non-profit private colleges, offering comprehensive undergraduate programs to more than 9,200 full-time students. With a strong focus on internationalization, it actively develops partnerships and exchanges with overseas universities, bringing global best practices into teaching and campus life through visiting scholars, international guest professors, and regular faculty and advisor training abroad. It also welcomes a growing number of international students, creating a diverse learning environment that broadens perspectives and supports the school’s goal of preparing students to connect with the world as global citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Teach college-level Psychology classes and support students’ language development
  • Plan lessons and prepare teaching materials aligned with program outcomes
  • Design and administer assessments including exams
  • Complete grading and provide timely feedback
  • Maintain accurate teaching records and follow academic requirements
  • Participate in meetings and coordinate with relevant departments as needed
  • Support a positive classroom environment and student engagement

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or above
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience
  • College-level teaching experience preferred
  • TEFL or TESOL certificate required
  • Experience teaching university students preferred

Salary and benefits

  • Monthly base salary of 16,000 to 18,000 RMB commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Salary increase may be offered based on qualifications and experience
  • Round-trip airfare reimbursement from home country to China up to CNY 14,000
  • Travel allowance CNY 2,000–6,000 per academic year based on qualifications
  • Overtime allowance CNY 150–300 per hour based on tasks and qualifications
  • One month paid holiday around February during Spring Festival plus other non-work holidays
  • Apartment provided close to or on campus with free rent or rental allowance
  • Health insurance provided with premium cap of CNY 10,000 per academic year
  • Covers hospitalization and inpatient fees
