DTID brings together professionals, researchers, technology specialists and other stakeholders to generate research, develop practical solutions, strengthen partnerships and support informed decision-making at the intersection of technology, climate change and sustainable development.

The Role

DTID is seeking an organised, creative and detail-oriented Communications and Social Media Coordinator to provide day-to-day communications support to the Communications Division.

The successful candidate will support social-media publishing, content administration, website updates and general communications coordination.

This is a junior execution role. Strategic communications, brand direction and media relations remain the responsibility of the relevant Directors.

The role is particularly suited to an early-career communications professional seeking practical international experience in digital communications, social media and institutional content management.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will:

  • Format approved content for different digital platforms.
  • Make routine website content updates under the direction of the Director of Strategic Communications and Brand.
  • Maintain communications files, image libraries, contact lists and content records.
  • Assist with the preparation of newsletters, event materials, presentations and digital content.
  • Track basic social-media and website performance.
  • Support communications activities surrounding DTID events and announcements.
  • Use approved AI and communications tools for routine production tasks where appropriate.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Communications Division.
  • Follow DTID's approved brand, editorial and communications standards.
  • Undertake other reasonable communications responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

  • Strong written communication ability.
  • Ability to follow established brand and editorial standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a remote and internationally distributed team.
  • A creative, reliable and solutions-focused approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and develop communications and digital-media skills.

Familiarity with AI-assisted communications tools, content-scheduling platforms or basic design tools would be advantageous.

Knowledge or interest in climate change, sustainability, international development, artificial intelligence, blockchain and emerging digital technologies would also be advantageous.

Education and Training

Candidates should preferably possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Media Studies, Digital Media or another relevant discipline.

Equivalent training, early-career experience or demonstrated capability may also be considered where appropriate.

  • Professional proficiency in English.

Knowledge of an additional international language would be advantageous.

Experience

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
