They provide legal services supporting individuals, families, and businesses with matters such as visas, green cards, citizenship applications, and divorce proceedings. Our client is dedicated to helping families and businesses navigate the complexities of U.S. immigration law.

The Immigration Case Manager is responsible for maintaining oversight of active caseload and ensuring matters continue moving through the firm’s processes appropriately. This is primarily a case-management and caseload-oversight position, not a form-preparation position.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a large portfolio of active immigration matters.

• Review case-management data to identify urgent, overdue, stalled or inactive matters.

• Monitor deadlines, tasks, case status and next actions.

• Ensure each matter has clear ownership and appropriate follow-up.

• Follow up with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and other staff regarding outstanding work.

• Monitor whether clients are receiving appropriate updates and whether requested client documents/information are being pursued.

• Identify cases requiring escalation to an attorney or management.

• Maintain accurate case-management information and ensure staff properly document activity.

• Use Docketwise reports, workflows, tasks and case information to monitor the caseload.

• Provide management with concise weekly reporting on caseload health, priorities, risks and exceptions.

• Help improve workflows and case-management processes when recurring problems are identified.

Requirements

  • Someone who is organized, analytical, accountable and comfortable managing a large volume of matters simultaneously.
  • U.S. immigration experience is important, but candidates do not need experience in every immigration case type.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience in U.S. immigration or a closely related legal case-management environment.
  • Experience managing a significant caseload, portfolio, docket, workflow or similar volume of matters.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to identify problems without waiting for someone else to point them out.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and risks.
  • Confidence following up with staff and holding work accountable.
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills.
  • Comfort working in a case-management/CRM system.
  • Sound judgment regarding when something should be escalated.
