Warehouse Manager

Position Summary
1 Resource Group Staffing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations for our client in Strafford, NC. This position is responsible for inventory control, receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, warehouse organization, employee supervision, forklift operations, and maintaining accurate inventory records using Zoho Inventory.
The ideal candidate will have strong warehouse leadership experience, hands-on forklift experience, and the ability to manage both the physical operation of the warehouse and the technology used to track inventory. Previous experience with Zoho Inventory or the Zoho platform is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Utilize Zoho Inventory to manage inventory levels, stock movements, purchase orders, sales orders, transfers, and warehouse transactions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical inventory matches system quantities.
- Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged materials.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and provide daily direction to warehouse personnel.
- Establish productivity expectations and monitor employee performance.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight with vendors, customers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed to load, unload, move, and stage materials.
- Ensure forklift operators follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices.
- Conduct or coordinate routine forklift inspections and ensure equipment issues are reported promptly.
- Maintain organized and efficient staging, loading, unloading, and storage areas.
- Ensure products and materials are properly labeled, stored, and tracked.
- Use Zoho reporting and inventory data to identify shortages, excess inventory, order issues, and operational trends.
- Maintain warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, material flow, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with purchasing, replenishment, and inventory forecasting as needed.
- Perform additional warehouse and operational duties as required.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or inventory management experience preferred.
- Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience required.
- Hands-on forklift operating experience required.
- Previous forklift certification preferred; ability to obtain or maintain required certification.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or similar material-handling equipment preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Zoho Inventory strongly preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP/WMS platforms, barcode scanning, and inventory tracking.
- Strong understanding of receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, cycle counting, and inventory-control procedures.
- Ability to analyze inventory reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong leadership and employee-management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
Preferred Zoho Inventory Experience
Candidates should ideally have experience with:
- Item and SKU management
- Purchase orders and sales orders
- Inventory adjustments
- Stock transfers
- Multi-location or warehouse inventory
- Receiving and shipment processing
- Serial number or batch tracking
- Reorder levels and inventory replenishment
- Inventory reports and analytics
- Barcode scanning and item tracking
- Vendor and customer records
- Integration with other Zoho applications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, climb, and perform routine warehouse activities.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required by the operation.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
- Ability to work around forklifts, pallet jacks, loading docks, and active shipping/receiving areas.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a hands-on Warehouse Manager who can lead from the floor, not simply manage from an office. This individual should be comfortable operating a forklift when needed, supervising warehouse employees, managing shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate inventory through Zoho Inventory.
