This isn't just a job. It's a chance to change a young person's life.

We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and dependable Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, supporting children and young people who may have experienced trauma, instability, emotional difficulties or challenging circumstances.

It won't always be easy. But the moments that matter — earning a child's trust, celebrating their progress and helping them feel safe — make it incredibly rewarding.

What you'll be doing

You'll help create a safe, stable and nurturing home where young people can feel valued, supported and listened to.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
  • Building positive, trusting relationships
  • Providing emotional support and positive role modelling
  • Supporting routines, activities and everyday life
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Responding calmly to incidents, safeguarding concerns and emergencies
  • Completing welfare checks, records, reports and handovers
  • Following care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and organisational policies
  • Working alongside colleagues, families and external professionals
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean and welcoming home

Who we're looking for

You don't need the perfect CV. You need the right attitude, resilience and heart.

Experience in any of the following would be valuable:

  • Children's residential care
  • Residential childcare
  • Children's or youth support work
  • Social care or care work
  • Behaviour support
  • SEN / SEMH
  • Foster care
  • Supported accommodation

We're looking for someone who is:

Patient Compassionate Calm Resilient Consistent Professional Trustworthy

Someone who understands that behaviour is communication, can maintain boundaries with kindness and genuinely wants to make a difference.

Residential childcare experience is desirable. Experience working with children and young people is important.

A full UK driving licence is desirable.

Why join us?

  • £33,488 per annum
  • Joining fee of up to £2000.00 (T's and C's apply)
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Support from an experienced care team
  • A rewarding career in residential childcare
  • The opportunity to build meaningful relationships with young people
  • The chance to make a genuine difference every day

Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is at the heart of what we do.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment procedures, including an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory pre-employment checks. Candidates will be required to disclose convictions or cautions that are not protected under current filtering legislation.

Could you be the difference?

You might be the person who helps a young person believe in themselves again.

You might be the adult they remember years from now.

If you're ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and become someone a young person can count on.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
