Reporting to the Director of Government Relations, this role will support the company's state and local government affairs efforts while helping build programs that strengthen Signature's relationships with policymakers, trade associations, airport sponsors, and communities across North America. This is an opportunity to join a growing team and help shape how Government Relations supports the business. The successful candidate will work across the company to strengthen grassroots engagement, improve how we leverage our trade association partnerships, expand stakeholder relationships, and develop tools and programs that make Government Relations a valuable resource for the organization. We're looking for someone with experience in state and local government affairs or trade associations

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

State & Local Government Affairs

  • Monitor and analyze state legislative and regulatory developments affecting Signature Aviation and the aviation industry.
  • Coordinate internal responses and prepare legislative summaries, issue briefs, presentations, talking points, and other government affairs materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with state and local elected officials, state agencies, municipal governments, airport sponsors, and other government stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder maps and engagement plans for Signature's operating locations.

Trade Association Strategy & Engagement

  • Maximize the value of Signature's investments in national, state, and regional trade associations.
  • Coordinate the distribution of legislative updates, policy developments, best practices, and other association resources across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities for Signature leaders to participate in committees, leadership positions, speaking engagements, sponsorships, conferences, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Track committee participation, sponsorships, and engagement opportunities to ensure the company fully leverages its trade association memberships.

Enterprise Government Relations Programs

  • Help build and grow Signature's Government Relations function by developing new programs, tools, and resources that improve engagement across the company.
  • Develop and coordinate a grassroots engagement program that helps Signature locations build meaningful relationships with elected officials, airport sponsors, and community stakeholders.
  • Create and facilitate annual Government Relations training, playbooks, and engagement resources for Signature's operating network.
  • Coordinate community engagement initiatives that support business objectives and strengthen relationships in key markets.
  • Maintain Government Relations databases, reporting tools, legislative trackers, and stakeholder resources.
  • Partner with Operations, Legal, Communications, Commercial, Human Resources, and executive leadership on Government Relations initiatives.
  • Support compliance with lobbying registration, ethics, and reporting requirements.
  • Travel as needed to support government affairs activities, industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Communications, Business, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Four to seven years of experience in government relations, legislative affairs, public policy, trade associations, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in or with state and local government—including state legislatures, governors' offices, state agencies, municipal governments, or local elected officials—is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a trade association or advocacy organization is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, infrastructure, or another regulated industry is preferred, but not required.

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Strong understanding of state and local legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate policy developments into practical business insights.
  • Experience supporting grassroots engagement, stakeholder outreach, or community engagement initiatives.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and political awareness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legislative or stakeholder tracking platforms.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
