About Us

At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world.

Leadership/Team Quote

“Every day, you’ll help colleagues get back to doing their best work by making workplace technology feel simple, reliable and human. If you enjoy solving problems, communicating clearly and being part of a close team, you’ll have a visible impact on the Amsterdam office from day one.” — Sofia Filippi, Team Lead IT Support

Role Description

Within Central Technology, Booking.com’s enabling technology department, IT Support is the first point of contact for employee technology issues. As an IT Support Technician in our Amsterdam office, you’ll provide hands-on and remote support for laptops, desktops, software, phones, accounts and other workplace technology, helping colleagues stay productive. This is a full-time, 100% on-site service-desk role on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of a permanent position after the first year. You’ll work closely with colleagues and local stakeholders, own issues through to resolution, and contribute to knowledge-base content that helps support become faster and more consistent.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide face-to-face, phone and email technical support to Booking.com employees, diagnosing and resolving issues across desktops, laptops, software, phones, accounts and other workplace technology.
  • Own support tickets from start to finish, keeping users informed of progress and expected resolution times through approved communication channels.
  • Configure and prepare computer hardware, maintain user accounts, and support mobile devices, peripherals and local workplace technology.
  • Carry out local on-site maintenance tasks and liaise with local stakeholders to help keep business operations running smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot issues using a logical, methodical approach, balancing and prioritising multiple requests according to urgency and business impact.
  • Document solutions and contribute to the IT knowledge base so that support becomes more consistent, reusable and efficient.
  • Collaborate with the wider IT Support team, identify the right stakeholders for complex issues, and contribute to team activities such as onboarding or recruitment when requested.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrable IT Support Technician experience, including customer-facing support and advanced troubleshooting in an enterprise or corporate environment.
  • Good working knowledge of configuring, supporting and diagnosing Windows or Apple operating systems; experience with both is a strong advantage, while experience with one is acceptable.
  • Experience supporting desktop hardware, laptops, peripherals, mobile devices and phones across a variety of user environments.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office in an enterprise environment, plus a working understanding of networking such as Wi-Fi and LAN.
  • Experience using an ITSM or ticketing system to log, prioritise, escalate and resolve issues; ServiceNow and Jira experience is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a customer-centric approach and the ability to explain technical information clearly to people at all levels.
  • A self-motivated team player who can work independently, stay calm under pressure, learn quickly, take ownership and prioritise effectively; ITIL v4 knowledge or relevant certifications such as CompTIA, CCNA or MCSA are desirable.

Benefits & Perks

Booking.com’s Total Rewards Philosophy is not only about compensation but also about benefits. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, as well unique-to-Booking.com benefits which include:

  • Annual paid time off and generous paid leave scheme including: parent, grandparent, bereavement, and care leave
  • Industry leading product discounts - up to 1400 per year - for yourself, including automatic Genius Level 3 status and Booking.com wallet credit
  • The Booking Deal, with other competitive Booking.com perks and benefits

Role-specific clarification: Booking.com may operate a hybrid working model generally; however, this IT Support Technician position is 100% on-site in Amsterdam. Hybrid working and working from abroad are not available for this role.

Inclusion at Booking.com

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
