Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform routine and emergency maintenance on machinery and equipment in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential issues, resolving mechanical problems, and ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently to minimize downtime.

This position is supporting our Elgen facility in Closter, NJ. The opening is on 3rd shift Monday to Friday 10pm to 6:30am.

Pay: $30 - $35 per hour

Duties and responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and adjusting machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Quickly diagnose and repair mechanical issues with machines, equipment, and systems in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
  • Equipment Installation: Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Parts & Inventory Management: Maintain and manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools, ensuring availability for repairs and replacements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and provide regular reports to management.
  • Collaboration: Work with production and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in machinery and processes, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Emergency Support: Respond to emergency maintenance calls during off-hours as needed to resolve critical issues

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on industrial machinery.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with preventive maintenance strategies and machinery repair best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to document maintenance activities accurately
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Vocational or technical training in maintenance or related field.
  • Certification in welding, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • For this position, it is required to be able to lift to 50 pounds

Esta posición brinda apoyo a nuestra planta de Elgen en Closter, NJ. El puesto es para el 3rd Turno de Lunes a Viernes de 10pm at 6:30am.

Pago: $30 a $35 por hora

  • Cumplimiento de seguridad: Cumplir con todas las normas y procedimientos de seguridad al realizar tareas de mantenimiento. Mantener un área de trabajo limpia y organizada.
  • Mantenimiento rutinario: Realizar tareas de mantenimiento preventivo como lubricación, limpieza y ajustes de maquinaria para asegurar un rendimiento óptimo y prevenir fallas.
  • Diagnóstico y reparaciones: Diagnosticar y reparar rápidamente problemas mecánicos en máquinas, equipos y sistemas para minimizar el tiempo de inactividad en producción.
  • Instalación de equipos: Asistir en la instalación de nuevos equipos y maquinaria, asegurando el cumplimiento de las normas de seguridad y operación.
  • Gestión de repuestos e inventario: Mantener y gestionar el inventario de piezas mecánicas y herramientas, asegurando su disponibilidad para reparaciones y reemplazos.
  • Documentación e informes: Mantener registros precisos de todas las actividades de mantenimiento, reparaciones e inspecciones, y proporcionar informes regulares a la gerencia.
  • Colaboración: Trabajar con los equipos de producción e ingeniería para identificar áreas de mejora en maquinaria y procesos, proporcionando retroalimentación para la mejora continua.
  • Soporte de emergencia: Responder a llamadas de mantenimiento de emergencia fuera del horario laboral según sea necesario para resolver problemas críticos.

Calificaciones

  • Experiencia comprobada como Mecánico de Mantenimiento o en un puesto similar.
  • Fuertes habilidades mecánicas y de resolución de problemas, con enfoque en maquinaria industrial.
  • Conocimiento de sistemas eléctricos, hidráulicos, neumáticos y componentes mecánicos.
  • Capacidad para leer e interpretar manuales técnicos, planos y esquemas.
  • Familiaridad con estrategias de mantenimiento preventivo y mejores prácticas en reparación de maquinaria.
  • Fuertes habilidades para resolver problemas y capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente o en equipo.
  • Buenas habilidades de comunicación y capacidad para documentar con precisión las actividades de mantenimiento.
  • Conocimientos básicos de informática para la programación y el registro de mantenimiento.
  • Formación vocacional o técnica en mantenimiento o campo relacionado.
  • Certificación en soldadura, hidráulica o sistemas eléctricos.
  • Experiencia con PLCs (Controladores Lógicos Programables) y sistemas de control.
  • Conocimiento de normativas y protocolos de seguridad en entornos de manufactura.
  • Para este puesto, se requiere la capacidad de levantar hasta 50 libras (22.7 kg).
