The Role

We are looking for a new Senior SEO Manager to join our growing team at Wpromote! Our ideal candidate will have a passion for establishing strong relationships with their clients (3-5), a natural curiosity for website optimization, and a knack for being proactive in pursuing growth opportunities for their book of business. You will work with a group of amazing SEO team members that you are able to learn from and bounce ideas off of. Read on, if this sounds like your next challenge!

You Will Be

  • Working on multiple client websites by implementing changes to various aspects in order to comply with Google's best practices and attain client website goals
  • Expected to retain existing business, while pursuing profitable growth opportunities in assigned clients accounts, both in SEO investments and cross-channel upsells.
  • Communicating regularly with clients to discuss goals and deliver results
  • Utilizing business acumen to work closely with client teams to identify and fully understand business needs, campaign performance objectives, and opportunities to grow the relationship and client investments.
  • Strategizing with team members to come up with creative solutions for our clients.
  • Identifying critical client/account issues and escalating them to appropriate executives in a timely manner
  • Tracking changes in organic, local, and AI-powered search; evaluating their likely impact on client goals; and turning relevant changes into prioritized recommendations
  • Creating reports to gauge progress and inform the client of the value being provided
  • Presenting your findings to the client in order to influence their onsite content strategy
  • Leading the sales process and partner with others as appropriate to assist in solution development and proposal delivery
  • Working with a client's development team to implement changes to their website or on your own with approval from the client.
  • Guiding and mentoring junior staff where necessary and consistently serving the department as a role model for the junior staff on the team
  • Managing local listings at scale by auditing and maintaining business details across directories and platforms, identifying duplicates and inconsistencies, coordinating corrections, and measuring local visibility and engagement.
  • Building local reputation programs with clients, including review-generation strategy, response guidance, escalation workflows, and analysis of review volume, ratings, sentiment, and recurring themes.
  • Developing SEO strategies for AI-powered search and answer experiences by improving content and technical foundations for discovery, and monitoring how clients appear in AI-generated answers and citations.
  • Evaluating priority topics and query patterns, then translating AI-search visibility and citation findings into actionable content and technical recommendations.
  • Educating clients and internal teams on changes in search, separating measurable results from emerging or directional indicators and incorporating new opportunities into SEO roadmaps and reporting.

You Must Have

  • 4+ years experience doing SEO work for clients within an agency environment
  • 1-2 years client facing experience
  • Experience leading SEO strategy for local and ecommerce clients, including multi-location or service-area businesses, local listings, and location-level performance measurement.
  • Desire to lead strategy for multiple large growth SEO clients
  • Understand the basics of SEO such as keyword research & website architecture
  • Familiar with Google Analytics, and grasp the basics of content marketing
  • Experience with keyword research/data mining tools and competitive analysis
  • Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Internet proficiency are required
  • Experience working directly on websites (general knowledge of CMS such as WordPress, Shopify, or Magento is a plus)
  • Ability to quickly pick up new skills and learn new tasks
  • Proven track record of successful project management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to hit and exceed deadlines required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral while paying close attention to detail
  • Experience with local SEO for multi-location or service-area businesses and managing local listings through directories or listing-management tools.
  • Understanding of online review and reputation workflows, including response practices, escalation, and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted search and LLM-based discovery, and the ability to assess opportunities without overstating what current measurement can prove.
  • Ability to connect local and AI-search recommendations to client goals and business outcomes, and prioritize work across multiple accounts.
  • A proactive approach to collaborating with others and managing workload

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game
