Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and visionary Chef Manager to lead our culinary operations in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee all aspects of kitchen management while fostering a collaborative, innovative environment that prioritizes both culinary excellence and operational efficiency. As Chef Manager, you'll be responsible for driving food quality standards, managing a dynamic kitchen team, and ensuring seamless service delivery that exceeds customer expectations.   • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, presentation, and consistency across all service periods
  • Recruit, train, develop, and motivate a skilled kitchen team, fostering a positive, inclusive working environment that promotes professional growth and accountability
  • Develop and execute innovative menus that showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients while maintaining nutritional balance and appealing to diverse customer preferences
  • Manage comprehensive kitchen budgets, including cost control, vendor negotiations, ordering, and stock rotation to optimize profitability without compromising quality
  • Oversee supplier relationships and inventory management, analyzing purchasing patterns to drive efficiency and sustainability
  • Ensure strict compliance with all food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and allergen control protocols, championing best practices throughout the organization
  • Analyze kitchen performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
  • Collaborate transparently with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align culinary offerings with organizational goals and customer needs
  • Maintain detailed financial records and provide analytical reporting on kitchen performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue optimization
  • Stay current with industry trends, culinary innovations, and best practices, bringing fresh ideas and strategic vision to the role

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar senior culinary leadership role, preferably within contract catering, hospitality, or food service management
  • Strong kitchen management and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards, health and safety regulations, allergen management, and sustainability best practices
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budget planning, P&L responsibility, cost control, and vendor negotiation
  • Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, recipe development, and culinary innovation using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Experience with kitchen inventory management, stock control systems, and supplier relationship management
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a resilient, decisive approach to managing challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for culinary excellence, customer satisfaction, and creating memorable dining experiences
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high standards and efficiency
  • Proficiency with kitchen management software and point-of-sale systems (preferred)
  • Relevant culinary certifications or formal training in food service management (preferred)
