Location: YMCA at AlexandriaCompensation: $17 -$20 an per hourSchedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year The YMCA at Alexandria is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Group Leader II for our School Age Child Care program. This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children’s lives in a supportive and collaborative afterschool environment. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage school-age children in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities Create a safe and stimulating environment for all participants Provide guidance and positive behavior support Maintain communication with families and program staff Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times Reports concerns, conflicts, or other problems directly to the supervisor Assists with parent/community council yearly calendar Assists with holiday giving program, clothing drive, and emergency food pantry Supports and participates in community events Attends parent/child events as required Makes outreach and reminder phone calls
Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary-middle aged children in a school or childcare setting High school diploma or GED required; relevant coursework or degree preferred Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday Before Care 6:30am-8:00am and or After Care 2:30pm-6:30pm
