The role requires a strong combination of factory leadership and technical manufacturing expertise. You will lead supervisors and production teams, oversee production planning and factory resources, provide technical guidance on fabrication and engineering matters, and work across departments to resolve operational challenges.

This is also an opportunity to shape the future of the factory by strengthening processes, developing people, improving production planning and supporting automation, digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives.

If you are an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys being close to the operation, solving problems and building stronger factory capabilities, we would like to hear from you.

• Conduct regular production coordination meetings and ensure operational issues are promptly escalated, assigned and resolved.

Engineering, Quality and Technical Oversight

• Review product designs, shop and fabrication drawings, technical specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy, manufacturability and practical production methods.

• Provide technical guidance on fabrication and finishing processes; lead systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for production, installation and product quality issues.

• Oversee in-process and final quality checks, non-conformance management, corrective actions, rework reduction and product traceability in collaborationwith relevant departments.

• Support product R&D, engineering solutions, technical documentation, testing, certification and knowledge transfer to maintain long-term technical capabilities.

• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, project teams and suppliers on technical clarifications, product requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

Workplace Safety, Equipment and Facilities

• Work with designated workplace safety personnel to enforce risk assessments, safe work procedures, Permit-to-Work requirements, toolbox briefings, machine guarding and appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Oversee factory housekeeping, safe material handling, storage practices and timely closure of safety observations, audit findings and incident corrective actions.

• Establish preventive maintenance and servicing plans for production machinery and equipment; monitor breakdowns, downtime, repairs and critical spare-part requirements.

• Ensure manufacturing operations and products follow approved specifications, applicable standards, quality procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.

Cost Control, Performance and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor factory operating costs, labour hours, overtime, material wastage, scrap, rework, subcontracting and consumable usage; identify and implement cost-saving measures.

• Stand review factory performance indicators such as production output, schedule adherence, labour productivity, on-time completion, defects, scrap and machine downtime.

• Prepare and review daily production reports, capacity and manpower updates, operational performance dashboards and corrective-action follow-upsfor management.

• Lead improvements in ERP/BOM accuracy, production reporting, material movements, stock visibility and manufacturing digitalization to support reliable planning and costing.

• Evaluate and implement process improvements, robotic welding and grinding, machinery investments and other automation initiatives, including feasibility, training and expected productivity benefits.

• Coordinate with procurement, project, quality and site installation teams to align material readiness, production commitments, delivery dates and installation requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication, including at least 3 years in a factory supervisory or management capacity.

• Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, steel or aluminum products, manufacturing processes, production planning and factory resource management.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, review BOMs, and understand practical fabrication methods and quality requirements.

• Familiarity with ERP systems, production reporting, inventory control, quality procedures and workplace safety requirements.

• Strong leadership, communication, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate across factory, engineering, procurement and project teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in factory layout optimization, capacity planning, inventory flow and manufacturing productivity improvement.

• Knowledge of machinery evaluation, preventive maintenance, robotic automation and capital investment assessment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
