The posting

We are seeking a Senior PCBA Design Engineer to develop and maintain spacecraft and ground-support PCB assemblies on York's Avionics and Payload Engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate across electrical, systems, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and test engineering to produce high-reliability electronics for space missions.   Senior engineers at York take ownership of hardware designs, influence system-level decisions, and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.   This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office.    Responsibilities

Lead the design, testing, documentation, and maintenance of complex PCBAs for spacecraft systems. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, testability, cost efficiency, and reliability. Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to transition designs into production. Produce high-quality documentation including schematics, PCB fab/assembly files, BOMs, ICDs, and test plans. Select components based on radiation tolerance, reliability, performance, environmental suitability, and cost. Conduct testing and simulations for thermal, vibration, and shock environments. Lead design troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations. Promote collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence within the team. Perform additional responsibilities supportive of mission and team objectives.

What Success Looks LikeWithin your first months, you will:

Own PCBA designs for a major spacecraft subsystem. See your work progress through prototype, test, and production phases. Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure flight readiness. Improve design workflows or documentation processes that strengthen reliability and efficiency.

  You’ll Thrive Here If You

Enjoy hands-on design, testing, and problem-solving. Value cross-functional collaboration and clear communication. Want to influence mission-critical hardware performance and reliability. Seek opportunities to innovate within PCB design, simulation, and verification.

This role will not have direct reports.   Required Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. 4+ years of electrical design experience. Experience with the full product development cycle. Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools. Experience in schematic capture, PCB layout, and manufacturing documentation. Knowledge of DFM/DFT principles. Understanding of space environment design considerations (radiation, charging, thermal, outgassing). Experience with high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal design. Familiarity with common interfaces: Ethernet, SERDES, DDR, PCIe, USB, UART, I2C, SPI. Experience designing power regulation circuits. Proficiency using lab equipment for validation/debug. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. US Citizenship. Ability and willingness to obtain security clearance.  Willingness to work full-time in office in Greenwood Village, CO.

  Preferred Qualification

6+ years of electrical design experience. Experience with simulation tools such as HyperLynx, SIwave, SPICE. Experience with radiation-effect mitigation, RF design, EMI/EMC, or precision timing. Experience managing requirements and test plans. Familiarity with configuration and product data management tools. Programming experience (Python, C, C++, MATLAB).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
