Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Dust, sweep, and mop floors throughout the facility.
  • Empty trash receptacles and maintain clean work areas.
  • Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and other waste materials.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and break rooms.
  • Clean microwaves, tables, chairs, countertops, fixtures, and other common areas.
  • Clean interior glass, windows, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Clean and maintain entryways, hallways, and floor mats.
  • Operate and maintain basic janitorial equipment and supplies.
  • Restock restroom and breakroom supplies as needed.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to grasp, hold, push, pull, and operate cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to climb stairs when necessary.
  • Must have sufficient vision to safely perform cleaning duties and identify areas requiring attention.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and building occupants.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed indoors in office, commercial, or industrial facilities.
  • Regular exposure to cleaning products and janitorial supplies.
  • Moderate noise levels may be present depending on the work area.
  • May work around employees, visitors, office equipment, and facility operations during normal business hours.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Good reading comprehension and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of janitorial or commercial cleaning experience required.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience cleaning office buildings, commercial facilities, or industrial spaces.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and sanitation practices.
  • Experience using standard janitorial equipment, including vacuums, floor mops, and cleaning tools.
