The posting

Zafin is an AI platform company helping regulated institutions modernize how critical work is designed, governed, and delivered. Our technology enables organizations to move faster while maintaining the governance, accountability, and control required in highly regulated environments.

Our portfolio includes Zafin AIOS, an agent orchestration platform for governed AI work; the Zafin Banking Platform, which helps banks modernize product, pricing, offers, billing, loyalty, and relationship management; and Zafin IO, an integration platform that connects data, systems, and workflows across complex enterprise environments.

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Zafin partners with leading financial institutions across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. As AI transforms the future of financial services, we're building the platforms that help regulated organizations adopt AI responsibly and at scale.

About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer II to join our Banking Platform organization. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and readiness of Zafin’s banking product as it is developed, tested, and released to customers.

You will be responsible for planning and executing testing across customer implementation workstreams, validating business requirements, identifying defects, and supporting release readiness. This role requires strong functional testing skills, good backend and data validation experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced banking technology environment. Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools is a plus, as the product is evolving toward AI-enabled capabilities.

What will you do?

  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and customer configuration details to define effective test scenarios and test cases.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, backend, API, and end-to-end testing for SaaS banking product implementations.
  • Validate backend data processing, file-based workflows, system integrations, APIs, batch jobs, and customer-specific configurations.
  • Prepare and manage test data required for test execution.
  • Execute test cases, document results, capture test evidence, and clearly report testing progress.
  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
  • Work with Product and Engineering stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve defects, and support release readiness.
  • Support UAT and validation activities by providing test evidence, defect updates, and scenario clarification when required.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites that validate product functionality, reliability, and quality.
  • Embed automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle, integrating automated regression and validation tests into product CI/CD pipeline(s) providing continuous quality feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation, test execution efficiency, and overall product quality.
  • Identify repeatable test scenarios that can be considered for automation.
  • Contribute to QA process improvement, test coverage enhancement, and overall product quality.
  • Test coverage is clear, complete, and aligned to product requirements.
  • Test automation frameworks reduce manual effort and speed up release cycles.
  • Defects are well documented, properly tracked, and resolved early in the development cycle.
  • Testing status, risks, and release readiness are communicated clearly.
  • QA is seen as a trusted, embedded partner within the Banking Platform engineering team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance; experience in banking, fintech, financial services, or enterprise SaaS environments preferred.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools or AI-assisted testing, with interest in building toward AI-enabled QA workflows.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle, defect lifecycle, test planning, test case design, and regression testing.
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing, backend testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
  • Good SQL skills for data validation, backend verification, and issue investigation.
  • Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, test management tools, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into clear, effective test scenarios.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support multiple concurrent initiatives.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing banking platforms, financial products, pricing, billing, deposits, lending, payments, or transaction workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, Cucumber, Rest Assured, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • Understanding of Kafka, ETL, batch processing, data pipelines, or message-based integrations.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, or DevOps practices.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
