The posting

Zarminali Pediatrics is building the nation's leading pediatric multispecialty group, focused on supporting families to shape healthy futures for their children – from birth through adulthood – by completely transforming the way pediatric care is delivered nationwide. We are tackling today's challenges of increased administrative burden on clinicians and a siloed approach to pediatric care through intentional design of care delivery, enhanced by leading technology and collaborative, expert care teams.

Our name, inspired by our founder's daughter's name – Zarmina – means “something that is more precious to you than gold”. We couldn’t think of anything that better represents the way parents and caregivers hold the relationship with their children as the most valuable gift, and how we at Zarminali approach care for each child with equal reverence.

We strive for a healthier future for pediatric patients and a happier future for pediatric clinicians nationwide, and we are looking for people to join us in achieving this vision. If you are eager to join a growth stage company and be part of the early team that is shaping the foundation of both the company and the delivery of pediatric care, then this opportunity might be for you!

POSITION OVERVIEW

We're seeking a forward-thinking, tech-savvy, and data-driven Sr. Manager, Total Rewards Experience to lead the day-to-day execution and administration of our compensation and benefits programs. This role will partner closely with the Vice President, People Operations to deliver competitive, compliant, and scalable Total Rewards programs that support a positive employee experience across our growing, multi-state organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise across compensation and benefits and is equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up their sleeves to execute. They will help build and scale our Total Rewards function, continuously evaluate new tools and market trends, and support the thoughtful integration of acquired teams into our compensation and benefits programs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Compensation Administration & Analysis

  • Administer day-to-day compensation programs, including job leveling and pay bands, in alignment with strategy set by the Vice President, People Operations.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and pay equity analysis using the company’s compensation benchmarking data, flagging risks or inconsistencies for leadership review.
  • Support annual compensation cycles (merit, promotion, and bonus processes), including modeling, communication materials, and manager guidance.
  • Maintain compensation data integrity within UKG and ensure alignment with job architecture and org structure.

Benefits Administration & Vendor Management

  • Own end-to-end benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, and day-to-day employee inquiries.
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, and vendors, ensuring service levels, billing accuracy, and timely issue resolution.
  • Partner with the Vice President, People Operations on renewal preparation; gathering utilization data, claims experience, and market data to inform renewal strategy and negotiation.
  • Ensure accurate benefits data flow across UKG and carrier feeds, partnering with the People Operations team to troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Administer retirement plan programs (e.g., 401(k)), including enrollment, vendor and recordkeeper relationships, contribution and match administration, and required compliance activities (e.g., Form 5500 filing, nondiscrimination testing coordination).

Total Rewards Communication & Employee Experience

  • Lead the rollout and ongoing administration of total compensation statements, helping employees understand the full value of their pay, benefits, and perks.
  • Develop clear, accessible communications (guides, FAQs, presentations) for open enrollment, new hire orientation, and total rewards changes.
  • Serve as a resource for managers and employees on compensation and benefits questions, escalating complex or sensitive matters appropriately.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compensation and benefits programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, pay transparency and pay equity laws) across all states in which the company operates.
  • Prepare and file required compliance documentation (e.g., ACA reporting, plan filings, nondiscrimination testing coordination with carriers/TPAs).
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails to support internal audits and any M&A-related due diligence on compensation and benefits.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate, timely processing of compensation changes, benefits deductions, and leave-related pay adjustments.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on plan documents, regulatory changes, and employee classification questions as they relate to total rewards.
  • Support M&A integration efforts by assessing acquired entities’ compensation and benefits programs and developing harmonization recommendations.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 7+ years of progressive experience with deep expertise in both compensation and benefits administration; dedicated Total Rewards background is a plus.
  • Familiarity with retirement plan administration (401(k) or similar), including recordkeeper coordination and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state compliance requirements related to compensation and benefits (ACA, ERISA, pay transparency, leave interactions).
  • Hands-on HRIS experience (UKG strongly preferred), with comfort managing data integrity across integrated systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using market benchmarking data to inform pay decisions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience translating complex compensation and benefits concepts into clear employee-facing materials.
  • A collaborative, execution-oriented mindset, comfortable owning administration and delivery while partnering with leadership on strategic decisions.
  • Tech-savvy and forward-thinking, with a track record of evaluating new tools, vendors, and industry developments to keep programs current and competitive.
  • Flexible, autonomous, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration for compensation and benefits, with the creativity and empathy to help acquired teams navigate change with confidence.
  • A strong focus on employee experience and consumer cost, with sensitivity to how compensation and benefits decisions affect employees' financial wellbeing, particularly in the current economic environment.
  • Experience in a high-growth, remote, or multi-state/multi-entity environment is strongly preferred; healthcare industry experience is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
