About Zeliot

At Zeliot, we are redefining the future of real-time data streaming, empowering enterprises and developers to unlock the full potential of their data with speed, simplicity, and scale. We envision a world where data moves seamlessly, insights are delivered instantly, and innovation happens at the speed of thought.

To bring this vision to life, we created Condense, a next-generation all-in-one data streaming platform that radically simplifies how real-time applications are built, deployed, and scaled. Condense eliminates the complexities traditionally associated with infrastructure management through fully managed Kafka, intelligent autoscaling, and a Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployment model, freeing developers from operational overhead and enabling them to focus entirely on creating new real-time experiences.

With an AI-driven development framework and a Custom Transformation Framework, Condense allows developers to write, test, and deploy stream processing logic in their preferred programming languages, accelerating innovation and shortening development cycles. This approach enables enterprises to bring new applications to market faster and operate at true cloud-native speed, supported by optimized infrastructure utilization and up to 40–60% reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO), all while maintaining data sovereignty, performance, and scalability across cloud environments.

Driven by deep domain expertise across connected mobility, IoT, and large-scale data ecosystems, Zeliot extends beyond platform innovation to deliver the complete ecosystem enterprises need to realize their real-time data ambitions. By combining advanced streaming technology with contextual intelligence and industry focus, Zeliot enables organizations to build, scale, and manage real-time applications with exceptional efficiency and measurable business impact.

At Zeliot, streaming becomes effortless, development becomes frictionless, and innovation becomes continuous, transforming how enterprises turn data into decisions and vision into value.

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong proficiency in Java-based backend development, microservices architecture, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and React.js. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining scalable applications for the Charging Management System (CMS).

The candidate should have strong experience in REST API development, distributed systems, database design, and system integrations. Experience with EV charging protocols, particularly OCPP and OCPI, will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive end-to-end software development, from requirement analysis and technical design to implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices predominantly using Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS as required by the platform.
  • Build and maintain responsive web interfaces using React.js, Material UI (MUI), JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for communication between application components and external systems.
  • Implement integrations with EV charging stations, charging networks, and external platforms using REST APIs and protocols such as OCPP and OCPI.
  • Develop and maintain charging-related workflows, including charge point registration, device status monitoring, charging sessions, meter values, and remote commands, as applicable to the product.
  • Support interoperability and data exchange between Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and e-Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs).
  • Work with TimescaleDB and other relational data stores to manage time-series data, charging telemetry, session records, and operational information.
  • Implement efficient caching mechanisms and optimize data retrieval using Redis.
  • Integrate Elasticsearch for indexing, searching, and retrieving operational and application data.
  • Work with object storage solutions such as MinIO and Amazon S3 for application storage and retrieval workflows.
  • Optimize database schemas, queries, indexes, and data access patterns to improve application performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot API failures, protocol communication issues, backend bottlenecks, and production incidents.
  • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and API tests to ensure application reliability and code quality.
  • Conduct code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to architectural and technical design decisions.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
  • Support application deployment, monitoring, debugging, and maintenance across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in software development, backend engineering, or full-stack development.
  • Strong proficiency in Core Java, object-oriented programming, and backend application development.
  • Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and microservices using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Working proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS for backend development.
  • Experience building frontend applications using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Material UI (MUI).
  • Strong understanding of REST API design, integration patterns, authentication, authorization, and API security.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
  • Familiarity with time-series databases; hands-on experience with TimescaleDB is preferred.
  • Experience with Redis for caching and Elasticsearch for search and indexing.
  • Familiarity with object storage solutions such as MinIO and Amazon S3.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and scalable application design.
  • Experience integrating external systems through REST APIs and troubleshooting cross-system data exchange.
  • Knowledge of WebSocket-based communication and real-time data processing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Git, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with automated testing, debugging, code reviews, and maintaining code quality.
  • Understanding of application logging, monitoring, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop reliable, maintainable solutions.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Good to have skills:

  • Hands-on experience with OCPP 1.6 and/or OCPP 2.0.1 for EV charging station communication and integration.
  • Knowledge of OCPI 2.1.1 or later for interoperability and data exchange between charging networks.
  • Experience with OCPP message handling over WebSocket, including boot notifications, heartbeat, status notifications, meter values, and remote start/stop operations.
  • Familiarity with OCPI workflows involving charging sessions, tariffs, locations, CDRs, and roaming between CPOs and eMSPs.
  • Experience working on EV charging management systems, charging infrastructure, connected mobility, or IoT platforms.
  • Exposure to Kafka or other messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with real-time device monitoring, telemetry ingestion, and distributed device management.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application deployment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
