Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Composite Technician to join our growing hypercar production team at Zenvo Automotive.
The role will primarily involve the lay-up, lamination and finishing of carbon fibre and composite components to meet the demanding structural and cosmetic standards of our vehicles.
However, this is more than a conventional production role. At Zenvo, we are not simply building components and cars. We are developing the team, processes and manufacturing capability required to deliver some of the world's most exclusive hypercars.
We are looking for individuals who want to be part of that journey. People who take pride in their work, recognise that building a successful manufacturing operation takes time and are willing to contribute beyond their immediate responsibilities.
There will be challenges along the way, and not everything will be established from day one. The right candidate will see this as an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of both the product and the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare moulds and tools, including cleaning, application of release agents and pre-fitting core materials.
- Lay up dry fabric or prepreg according to lay-up schedules and work instructions.
- Perform vacuum bagging and support curing processes using autoclaves and ovens.
- Demould, trim and carry out finishing work on composite components.
- Inspect parts visually and dimensionally, identifying and reporting defects.
- Follow all safety procedures for handling resins, fibres and chemicals.
- Support the development of new composite processes and prototype components.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of work instructions, production methods and workshop standards.
- Work closely with colleagues to resolve manufacturing challenges and establish consistent, repeatable processes.
- Take ownership of workmanship, quality and the working environment, helping to build a production facility the team can take pride in.
Qualifications and Experience
- Vocational training or practical experience in composites manufacturing.
- Experience working with carbon fibre, vacuum bagging and autoclave processes.
- Experience within low-volume, high-quality automotive production or motorsport is advantageous.
- Good practical skills and the discipline to follow defined manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of curing processes and composite material handling.
- Strong attention to detail, including cosmetic requirements such as weave alignment, surface finish and defect prevention.
Personal Attributes
The right mindset is just as important to us as technical ability.
We are building a company and a production capability, not simply filling positions on an established production line. We therefore value people who demonstrate:
- Resilience and determination: Someone who remains constructive when faced with setbacks, understands that progress is not always straightforward and has the persistence to work through challenges.
- A genuine hands-on attitude: Comfortable getting involved, taking responsibility and doing what is needed to help the wider team succeed.
- Adaptability: Able to work effectively in a developing manufacturing environment where processes will evolve as the business grows.
- Initiative and problem solving: Someone who does not simply highlight problems but contributes to finding practical solutions and improving the way we work.
- Team mentality: Understands that individual craftsmanship matters, but that long-term success depends on building a capable, supportive and accountable team.
- Pride and personal ownership: Takes responsibility for the quality of their work, respects agreed standards and wants to leave things better than they found them.
What to Expect
Joining Zenvo at this stage offers the opportunity to help shape the manufacturing operation as it develops.
We have ambitious objectives and exceptionally high standards. Achieving them will require hard work, patience and a willingness to learn as we grow.
In return, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to how we manufacture our vehicles, influence the development of our processes and be part of building something genuinely special.
We are looking for people who want to be part of that achievement, not simply perform a task.
