The posting

About the team

Zillow’s Human Resources teams help attract, hire, develop, engage, and support the people who move our business forward. This internship posting supports two opportunities: one within our Talent organization and one within our Employee Service and Operations organization.

Our Talent organization includes Recruiting, Executive Talent, Talent Management & Learning, and Talent Experience & Enablement. These teams help connect people with career opportunities, support employee and leadership development, and improve candidate and employee experiences.

Our Employee Service and Operations organization supports employees through employee service, HR processes, knowledge resources, and operational enablement. These teams help make HR information and services easier to navigate and improve how people-related processes work.

Across both organizations, we bring together people-centered thinking, research, data, and operational excellence to solve problems and create better experiences.

About the role

At Zillow, interns do meaningful work that contributes to the business from day one. Our nine-week summer internship program, running June through August, gives students the opportunity to bring their ideas and perspectives to real projects alongside Zillow teams.

Interns build hands-on experience, connect with mentors and leaders, and take part in learning and community experiences with their intern cohort. Our 2027 internships are based in Seattle and follow a hybrid schedule, with interns generally working together in person Tuesday through Thursday. Eligible interns will receive a stipend to help offset summer housing and relocation costs.

As a Human Resources Undergraduate Intern, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects that improve how Zillow attracts, develops, engages, or supports its people. You’ll work alongside experienced HR professionals, build practical skills, and explore how people-focused work connects to business outcomes.

We are hiring two undergraduate interns through this posting. One intern will join the Talent organization, and one will join Employee Service and Operations. Each intern will be assigned to one host team for the internship; this is not a rotational program. Specific projects will depend on the host team and business priorities.

Potential project areas include:

  • Talent: Recruiting and talent research, learning and development, onboarding, employee engagement, performance programs, executive talent initiatives, or talent experience and enablement.
  • Employee Service and Operations: Employee service experience, HR process improvement, employee-facing knowledge resources and communications, or HR operations and enablement.

In either placement, you’ll contribute to a defined project, collaborate with partners, and develop recommendations or resources that address a real business need.

You will get to

  • Contribute to a defined project or workstream, partnering with your manager to establish goals, deliverables, and measures of success.
  • Research HR, talent, or employee experience topics, gather stakeholder input, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Organize and analyze data or feedback to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Help create presentations, communications, learning resources, process guides, or other materials that make information clear and accessible.
  • Support the planning and delivery of HR programs, services, or initiatives, including coordination, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to improve candidate, employee, or manager experiences, depending on your host team.
  • Document workflows, improve knowledge resources, and recommend ways to make processes more effective, consistent, accessible, and scalable.
  • Share your project outcomes and recommendations with stakeholders while building your communication and presentation skills.
  • Handle candidate, employee, and business information with care, following team guidance on confidentiality and appropriate data use.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $60,000.00 - $96,000.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Interested in how organizations attract, develop, engage, and support their people, and eager to explore a career in human resources.
  • Coursework or project experience in human resources, business, psychology, organizational development, education, communications, data analytics, or a related area is helpful, but not required.
  • A curious learner who asks thoughtful questions, seeks feedback, and brings new perspectives to the team.
  • A clear communicator who can organize ideas and adapt information for different audiences.
  • Organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate when you need support.
  • Comfortable working with data and learning tools used for spreadsheets, presentations, collaboration, and project tracking.
  • A collaborative problem-solver who listens to others and approaches work with empathy and an inclusive mindset.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive information.

We welcome relevant experience gained through coursework, research, student organizations, volunteering, part-time work, or other projects. Prior recruiting or human resources experience is not required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
