The posting

  • Monitor actual performance vs. budget reports
  • Prepare weekly performance monitoring reports, sub trade mix, customer & volume/profitability analysis
  • Prepare and analyze monthly KPI reports
  • Assist in preparing other reports as required by management, e.g. for trade workshops and budget presentations
  • Report exceptions in all reports to Line Manager and follow up as needed
  • Work with Trade, Countries and Sales to set and monitor business plan, including Sales Target Setting, POL/Customer space allocation, etc.
  • On-going monitoring of line performance, identify exceptions / areas of improvement and implement action plans under line manager’s guidance.
  • Deal with relevant system approval / set up to ensure functionality of the line, e.g. route activation, tariff approval, inland tariff approval, sales target input, system set up for utilization / customer value reports, etc.
  • Assist to monitor line operations, follow up on vessel schedules and alert line manager in case of possible deviation
  • Involve in ad-hoc projects and line analysis as necessary
  • Collect and compile market intelligence, e.g. competition, market share studies, etc.
  • Assist in analyzing line changes, e.g. change in rotation, vessel deployment, new lines, etc.
  • Provide tender analysis and pricing support during contract renewal season
  • Participate in annual budget preparation
  • Provide guidance and training to peer analysts

Requirements

  • An academic degree in Logistics/Shipping/Economics/Industrial Engineering/Business/Management or similar
  • Excellent command of English
  • Proficiency in Office software with high level of skills in Excel
  • Logistics/Shipping knowledge is an advantage
  • Complex problem solver - To identify & solve the problem within complex process/situation successfully. To identify potential problems in a proactive manner
  • Analytical thinking – to translate understanding to decision making
  • Business acumen - to understand market trends, to define initiatives and to find top-notch solutions
  • Proactivity – to challenge existing way of work, to initiate new ideas and seek new opportunities
