The Opportunity

This position works out of our Warsaw office location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division.

At ADC, we’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Finance Controller Poland & CEE, you’ll be responsible for providing financial guidance to the overall organization, as well as strategic and analytical support to Regional Finance Controller and to General Manager Poland & CEE. The position requires an international exposure and reports to the Regional Finance Controller of SEE, has significant interaction with countries Commercial Heads located across region, as well as with General Manager Poland & CEE and EMEA Senior Management.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee 8 countries with annual sales of over US $250MM.
  • Ensure that all financial activity is completed in accordance with Abbott policies and procedures as well as local laws and regulations.
  • Manage, consolidate and report the financial results each month, ensuring proper timeliness, accuracy and insightful analytics.
  • Ensure growth and talent development of Finance & Demand staff.
  • Provide leadership and day to day support to the countries for Actuals, LBE, CDR, LRP, etc.
  • Provide financial and strategic support to Commercial Heads and Regional Controller during business reviews and in all other Finance & Demand processes to Senior Management in ADC.
  • Involvement in monthly CDR process with each country, ensuring a proper preparation for Area CDR review, consolidation of regional results, presentation of results, insights and future action.
  • Ensure that all risks and opportunities are evaluated, analysed and communicated in a timely manner to Regional Senior management
  • Ensure the alignment of Demand and Finance processes.
  • Organize and manage the Regional calendar and ensure all tasks and due date are properly communicated and all activities are planned to allow time for execution.
  • Work to continually provide process improvements that benefit both/either our regions or HQ and provide improved profitability/cost effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Finance / Accounting / Economy. MBA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience within various roles in Controlling Department.
  • Minimum 5 years of international experience either abroad or dealing with multiple countries. Regional and Consolidation experience is a must as well as capabilities to interact with people from different cultures.
  • Outstanding leadership, analytical, communication and presentation skills. Capabilities to challenge status quo and develop innovative processes and solutions.
  • Must have excellent system skills, attitude and experience, especially with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in Polish and English.
  • Previous successful experience in people management.
  • Ability to successfully work with senior executives and provide sound strategic guidance regarding business opportunities and challenges.
  • Experienced in leading and motivating a team in a challenging environment and ensuring the team achieves their professional goals and site objectives.
