Key Responsibilities

Commissioning Activities

· Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgears, HV and distribution transformers, MCCs, VFDs, UPS and DC systems, generators, and control panels.

· Assist in loop checking, continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing of electrical equipment.

· Support energization and start-up activities of plant equipment and systems.

· Execute commissioning procedures, test plans, and checklists as directed by Commissioning Engineers.

· Participate in performance testing and reliability runs of plant systems.

· Lead technical walkdown with the client recording the punches.

Installation Verification & Testing

· Verify electrical installations against approved drawings, specifications, and standards.

· Conduct cable continuity, megger, grounding, and protection relay testing.

· Inspect electrical equipment and ensure proper installation before commissioning.

· Monitor and record test results and commissioning data.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

· Diagnose and rectify electrical faults during commissioning and start-up phases.

· Support maintenance activities on electrical systems and equipment.

· Coordinate with instrumentation, mechanical, and process teams for integrated system testing.

· Assist in resolving commissioning punch-list items.

Documentation & Reporting

· Prepare commissioning records, test reports, and daily progress reports.

· Maintain accurate documentation of all testing and commissioning activities.

· Review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.

· Assist in preparing as-built documentation and handover dossiers.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

· Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and permit-to-work systems.

· Ensure safe isolation and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.

· Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, last minute risk assessment and safety inspections.

· Promote a strong safety culture throughout commissioning activities.

Qualifications

· Diploma or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

· Additional commissioning certifications will be an advantage.

Experience

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.

· Experience in SWRO desalination plants, water treatment plants, power plants, or industrial process facilities is highly preferred.

· Familiarity with commissioning of MV/LV electrical systems and industrial automation environments.

Technical Skills

· Knowledge of electrical commissioning procedures

· Testing equipment:

1. Insulation resistance tool

2. CPC100

3. CIBANO Kit (CB test Kit)

4. Hypot Kit

5. CT analizer

6. CMC Kit

• Experience with: Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems

1. Transformers

2. Switchgear, MCCs and distribution panels.

3. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Soft starters (SS)

4. UPS and DC systems.

5. Batteries

6. Protection relays

7. Electrical motors and starters
