We are a passionate group of people building an extraordinary company. The Senior People Partner serves as a trusted partner to our Merchandising, Research & Development, Product Development, Wholesale, Growth, Operations, Customer Success, Finance, Inventory Planning and Legal teams.
In this role, you’ll help leaders connect where the business is going with how their organizations need to evolve. You’ll partner with them on organizational decisions, help strengthen leadership, navigate change, and build high-performing teams that can adapt as business grows.
You’re comfortable operating with a lot of autonomy, and just as comfortable building trust with people at every level – from mangers up through our most senior leaders. You read the room, adapt your approach, and keep things moving even when things are ambiguous.
You’ll be a go-to resource for leaders and team members alike – on everything from team dynamics and career growth to the harder conversations. You’ll also bring that same coaching and problem-solving to our People team, helping sharpen how we all work.
As Balsam Brands continues to evolve, you'll also help leaders and teams adopt AI and think through how it changes work, roles, and capabilities on their teams.
This full-time position reports to the SVP of People and is expected to work in a hybrid model, which includes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-office.
What you’ll do:
Strategic Business Partnership
- Build trusted relationships that let you ask hard questions and help leaders think through what’s coming next
- Use data and pattern-recognition to flag risks, opportunities, and trends to leaders – and help them figure out what to do about it
- Help leaders translate company priorities into practical next steps
Organizational Design & Change
- Partner with leaders to think through team structures, roles, workflow, decision-making, and accountability as their functions evolve
- Help diagnose where team structure, unclear roles, or clunky processes are getting in the way, and recommend practical alternatives with clear tradeoffs
- Facilitate cross-functional conversations that clarify ownership and cut down friction
- Help leaders build compelling narratives for organizational change, and to prepare managers, anticipate challenges, and guide teams through transitions
Coaching, Problem Solving & Mentorship
- Coach and advise leaders on decision-making, communication, organizational leadership by identifying opportunities for growth, leveraging team strengths, and developing members toward organizational effectiveness.
- Help leaders navigate hiring, performance, succession, and development decisions in line with our values and leadership expectations
- Work through complex team dynamics and hard conversations with confidence, balancing empathy with accountability
- Help shape and facilitate leadership discussions, team sessions, and offsites that build alignment and accelerate execution
- Mentor and problem-solve alongside other People team members – sharing what you are seeing, coaching on tricky situations, and helping raise the bar across the team
Trends & Insights
- Help spot trends in engagement, retention, promotions, and team health, then partner with leaders to get at the root causes
- Help leaders create environments where people can perform at their best while strengthening trust, accountability, and collaboration
- Partner across the People Team so the support we provide stays consistent and high-quality everywhere
What you bring to the table:
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources, People, Organizational Development, or related experience, including significant experience supporting senior business leaders
- Demonstrated success partnering with leaders in fast-paced, evolving organizations
- Practical experience in organizational design, leadership coaching, talent strategy, and change management
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into practical people strategies
- Experience using organizational and people data to identify trends and influence decisions
- Excellent facilitation, communication, coaching, and conflict management skills
- Experience supporting globally distributed teams and working effectively across cultures
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools to improve personal effectiveness and helping teams adopt AI-enabled ways of working
