Highlights:
Summary: The Floor Care Technician shall be responsible for floor finishing, carpet cleaning, and general cleaning. This individual shall complete all tasks assigned on a daily basis for areas within the Baptist Health hospital and non-hospital facilities. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least one year floor care experience preferable. Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills. License / Certification: none Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Must be able to interact with all levels of peers, customers and management. • Must be able to work safely around chemicals, dust and be flexible with begin and end shift time. • Must be flexible with scheduled work times to meet customer demands as well. • Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards. • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. • Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards. • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. • Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations. • Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated. • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 1% of the workday and mobility 99% of the workday. There is frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 75 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Deals with equipment that may weigh up to 350 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Medium range noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
