Purpose:
Under close supervision, coordinate and perform work in administrative and operational management of the airport facilities.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the traveling public, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and City of Austin employees, and the neighboring community by recognizing and responding to violations of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances.
Inspect facilities and ensures safe operating conditions. Investigate problem areas and make recommendations for corrective action. Respond to emergencies, makes decisions and coordinates emergency activities, and implements emergency plans. Research information as requested / needed.
Write technical reports. Works with federal agencies, and airport tenants as required ensuring the safety, security and efficiency of airport operations. Answer emergency and non-emergency phone calls, determine nature of request and take messages when necessary. Initiate, enter and update the system. Provide customer service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and City of Austin Employees, other governmental agencies and tenants by performing duties such as providing information using communication devices.
Record data to appropriate forms/logs. Search for data on multi-application computer systems Operate/monitor multi-channel radio, audio/video, multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional paging systems.
Coordinate the opening and closing of the airport (or portions of it) based upon airport conditions, safety factors and emergencies. Coordinate Investigations with other entities and Department of Aviation.
Manage curbside vehicle or pedestrian crosswalk traffic, as assigned.
Salary:
$23.76 - $27.32
DRIVING REQUIREMENT:
This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle.
Position will also be required to drive on the AOA.
This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.

OVERTIME:
Overtime may be required with or without notice.
WORK HOURS:
Core hours are 0430–1500, 1200–2230, and 2030–0700. This position requires flexibility to work any shift within a 24-hour period, based on these core hours, seven (7) days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Schedules may vary based on operational needs and are subject to change.
Hours may change depending on departmental needs. Work hours may include after-hours, holidays, and weekend work
