The Role
Reporting to the Director of HR, you'll act as the first point of contact for day-to-day people matters, working alongside our HR Administrator, who handles administrative support so you can focus on partnering-level work.
The Operations team, of which the HR function is a part, works in person at our HQ in Belfast at least one day per week to collaborate face-to-face with colleagues and the HR People Partner will need to be flexible in their approach to office attendance.
Key Responsibilities
Manager Partnering & Employee Relations
- Meeting with people managers regularly on team performance, new hire progress, and ad hoc issues; acting as the primary day-to-day HR contact for managers; advising on performance, conduct, conflict, and sensitive conversations; coaching managers through difficult conversations and team dynamics
- Administering maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave from notification through to return, and keeping HRIS and payroll records accurate throughout
- Coordinating onboarding alongside the HR Administrator to ensure a consistent new hire experience, delivering new hire inductions, and owning offboarding including exit interviews and actioning feedback
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
- Day-to-day management of employee benefits across NI, GB, RoI, and the US (pensions, private medical, life assurance, income protection, and more), leading the annual benefits review cycle, and supporting compensation benchmarking alongside Talent Acquisition
- Managing the L&D request and approval workflow, overseeing the Go1 platform at a programme level, and reporting on completions, spend, and impact
Policy, Systems & Analytics
- Supporting the Director of HR in writing and maintaining HR policies across NI, GB, RoI, and US jurisdictions, owning the HR Notion workspace, and leading the annual policy review cycle
- Owning defined HR projects from scoping through delivery, including employee engagement surveys and the US employer portal (planned 2027), and driving continuous improvement of HR processes
- Tracking and reporting on absence, turnover, engagement, and probation outcomes; supporting statutory reporting including Equality Commission / Article 55 returns; maintaining BambooHR data integrity
Who Should Apply / What Skills & Experience You Need
You don't need to tick every box, but the following skills and experience will help you thrive in this role:
Required Experience, Qualities & Skills
- 3-5+ years' experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within the tech sector
- HR-related qualification (CIPD or equivalent) desirable
- Solid knowledge of employment law across NI, GB, and RoI
- Familiarity with US employment and benefits
- Experience with hybrid and asynchronous work practices, and using tools such as Slack in this environment
- Track record of advising managers on employee relations, performance, and conduct issues, including sensitive or escalated cases
- Experience owning benefits administration and/or a benefits review cycle across multiple jurisdictions
- Confident writing and maintaining HR policy, with an eye for clarity and practical usability
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and competing stakeholders with attention to detail and discretion
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (we use BambooHR), and comfortable working in a range of platforms such as Notion, Google Workspace
