Join the Pioneer Crypto Brand in the Philippines!

Coins is the most established crypto brand in The Philippines and has gained the trust of more than 18 million users. Through the easy-to-use mobile app, users can buy and sell a variety of different cryptocurrencies and access a wide range of financial services.

Coins is fully regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and is the first ever crypto-based company in Asia to hold both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses from a central bank.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Risk Officer to join our Risk Management team, with a focus on market and liquidity risk. In this role, you will independently identify, measure, monitor, and report on market and liquidity risk exposures across Coins.ph's treasury and digital asset activities to protect the company's balance sheet and its customers' funds. You will develop and maintain risk frameworks and controls, ensure compliance with BSP and other applicable regulatory requirements, and deliver clear, decision-useful insights to Senior Management and the Risk Committee. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can operate independently in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial institution and who is comfortable bridging traditional banking risk discipline with the realities of a crypto-enabled platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and maintain risk profiles across market, liquidity, and digital asset/crypto exposures, both on- and off-balance sheet.
  • Monitor market risk on trading and treasury positions, including foreign exchange and digital asset price volatility, using metrics such as VaR, stressed VaR, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Perform market risk back-testing, stress testing, and exception analysis, escalating limit breaches and model issues in accordance with governance requirements.
  • Measure and monitor liquidity risk across on- and off-balance sheet exposures, including cash flow projections, funding concentration analysis, and liquidity coverage across fiat and digital asset holdings.
  • Conduct interest rate stress testing and scenario analysis, evaluating behavioral assumptions and structural balance sheet risk.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine market and liquidity risk management strategies, policies, and frameworks to mitigate identified financial risks.
  • Design and maintain relevant internal controls and operational risk controls related to treasury and digital asset operations.
  • Assess market and liquidity risk exposures against Board-approved risk appetite limits and regulatory thresholds, escalating material breaches, model issues, and emerging concerns in line with governance protocols.
  • Support the design and enhancement of risk methodologies as Coins.ph's product suite and digital asset activities evolve.
  • Analyze financial data, market trends, and treasury/digital asset portfolio performance to identify potential risks and opportunities, using financial modeling to evaluate market and liquidity risk scenarios.
  • Prepare risk reports and dashboards for Senior Management and the Risk Committee, and support the ongoing enhancement of market and liquidity risk policies, frameworks, and procedures.
  • Track key risk indicators (KRIs) and support regulatory reporting obligations to the BSP and other relevant authorities.
  • Ensure risk practices comply with BSP regulations and circulars, AMLC requirements, and other applicable Philippine and international regulatory standards for EMIs and VASPs.
  • Partner with Compliance, Finance, Audit, and Legal teams to ensure integrated, consistent risk management practices across the organization.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments affecting digital assets, e-money, and payments in the Philippines and the broader Southeast Asian market.
  • Develop and help execute contingency plans for managing financial emergencies, market dislocations, and other unforeseen risk events, including crypto market volatility scenarios.
  • Support the Head of Risk on ad hoc risk investigations, special projects, and other related initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in market risk, liquidity risk, treasury risk, or a related financial risk management function, within banking, fintech, or a related financial services environment.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in digital assets/cryptocurrency markets is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of market and liquidity risk methodologies, stress testing, and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Familiarity with BSP regulations and industry standards applicable to EMIs, VASPs, and payment institutions.
  • Working knowledge of fixed income, foreign exchange, and digital asset products, as well as balance sheet risk management.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex risk concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and ethical standards.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
