The job & what you’d be working on

As a software developer, you are interested in what happens under the hood of modern digital sales channels. You’ll get to work together with other Columbia Road consultants in a cross-competence team, building and growing new digital businesses for our customers in various fields of business. This means you may collaborate daily with designers, digital marketers, strategy consultants, data & AI specialists as well as our clients' stakeholders and team. You will be supported in your learning by peers in both development and other domains, and you’ll have the ability to create real impact in our clients’ businesses.

Your motivation comes from the results and impact your solution creates, rather than the technical beauty of the code. For us, technology is a tool to create business impact for our clients, and we are agnostic in choosing whichever tools best solve the challenge. This can mean widely used programming languages and frameworks, but also different CRM, CMS and ecommerce solutions that we customise and integrate to our clients’ other systems. We have listed some examples further below.

This position is a great fit for you if

  • You are a student in the final year of your studies, or have graduated within the past couple of years.
  • You have already gained professional work experience related to software development. For example, you may have worked part time in a professional setting during your studies.
  • You have a good understanding of the basic principles of both backend and frontend software development.
  • You’re agnostic in your tech-approach and are open to using a wide array of languages, frameworks, CRM and CMS systems and ecommerce platforms, selecting the tools that best match our clients’ needs. Some of the most common languages we come across in our work are JavaScript, Typescript, PHP, Java and C#. We hope you are comfortable with more than one of these. Other technologies seen as an advantage include: Clojure, Scala, Python, Go as well as any experience working with CMS, CRM and ecommerce platforms.
  • You are self-driven, proactive and want to continuously learn new things.
  • You understand the basics of digitalisation and you approach problems in an analytical manner.
  • You would love to work with challenging client cases supported by a diverse community of digital sales professionals.
  • You are comfortable communicating matters related to your own work and you enjoy working with other people in an agile environment – it’s not a problem for you to present your own ideas to a small group of people from time to time, for example in a workshop.
  • You have a “get things done” attitude towards your work.
  • You live (or plan to move) within commuting distance of Helsinki or Tampere and are open to working on-site according to client needs.
  • You are fluent in English and Finnish.

Recruitment process

This is a permanent, full-time position with a flexible start date from August 2026. We hope to hear from you soon!
