We are looking for a Vessel Operation Coordinator to join our office in Milan.
The main duty of the Vessel Operation Coordinator is to support Vessel Operation and Mobilization Manager to ensure Prysmian vessels readiness to timely and efficiently execute submarine cable installation projects respecting schedule and budget.
The VOC therefore represents the interface between main Submarine Installation Department functions from mobilization planning to project execution, leading operations coordination plan for each vessel on Project:
- Marine Operations Superintendents (OIM/DOIM) to participate to the operations coordination plan and to be the main point of contact during project execution.
- Marine Operations Project Engineering team as the focal point of contact to gather project information and requirements to set the operations coordination plan.
- Vessel Management, Mobilisation Management and Asset Management, with their respective responsibilities, are the main partners to ensure vessel mobilisation, maintenance and development according to project requirements.
- Crewing Department to support in the vessel manning plan process.
Key duties and responsibilities are as following:
- Owner of the operation coordination plan involving all main Submarine Installation department functions to ensure vessel readiness, maintenance, development and compliance with project requirements.
- Follow up the operation coordination plan during project execution phase with specific focus on mobilisation and demobilisation activities. Main points of contact to be Offshore Superintendent, Vessel Manager, Mobilisation Manager, Vessel Master, Project and Asset Teams for Technical matters and Crewing department.
- Be responsible of the vessel readiness on time and according to safety and quality requirements. Verify compliance with project and contractual documents and ensure that all contractual obligations are fulfilled in time from Mob phase of vessels to the scope completion.
- Interface with Crewing department and vessel OIMs to support definition and organisation of vessel manning based on project specific requirements as per vessel manning process.
- Support in cost controlling of vessel activities, making sure operations are performed according to the defined budget as per Management Plan. Vessel day rate set up during preparation phase and monitoring during execution phase as support to Vessel Operations and Mobilisation Manager with constant interface with Finance department as per Installation & Finance process.
- Ensure Vessel and onboard equipment availability, maintenance and efficiency is under control, supervising/suggesting modification or improvements in collaboration with Marine Operations Superintendent, Asset team and Vessel Management as part of the continuous improvement process.
- Interface with QHSE department ensuring operations are conducted according with Quality and HSE company policy on board Vessels. Participate to investigation in case of incidents, near miss, site events and coordinate corrective actions were relevant and/or necessary. Identify possible NCs during works and suggest corrective actions.
- Interface Operational Procurement department for the definition and procurement of project rental equipment and support vessels for project execution such as Anchor Handling Tugs, Crew Transfer Vessels, Supply Vessels, etc.
You are the right fit if you have/are:
- Fluent in English and italian
- Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Engineering, Engineering Technology or other Engineering related subjects
- Up to 3-5 years of experience in a role involved in installation of submarine cable, more in general in the construction industry
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Decision making attitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong teamwork skills, results oriented and ambitious mindset
