WHAT EXCITES US

- You have 8+ years of hands-on experience as a senior contributor to teams that have proved they can ship great products.

- You're a backend specialist with deep expertise in server-side technologies (Ruby on Rails / Node.js / Postgres) and API design.

- You have solid object-oriented design and programming skills with experience architecting solutions for complex data-intensive systems.

- You have hands-on experience with DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment (AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)

- You understand system scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and have experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform).

- You have experience building software that enables money movement with a penchant for digitizing historically paper-based processes.

- You have experience with data modeling, database optimization, and ensuring data integrity in financial systems.

- You have experience building and maintaining search infrastructure, ideally with Elasticsearch or similar technologies.

- You try to give back to the development community as a contributor to Open Source Software projects or other pro-bono avenues.

WORKING AT FOLIO

- Folio is a Ruby on Rails app with Typescript Node.js automations and Elasticsearch deployed to AWS.

- Our engineering team meets daily for standup (except Friday) and otherwise keep meetings to a minimum.

- We're a remote-first company. Quarterly, we travel to work together in-person and stay with one of our hotel partners.

- For the most part, we rely on Google Meet, GitHub, Linear, Notion, and Slack to make decisions and get things done day-to-day.
