WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Run the full payroll cycle for the TOO: salaries, bonuses, vacation pay, sick leave, severance, per diems

- Calculate and control IPN (individual income tax), OPV and OPVR (pension contributions), SO (social contributions), VOSMS and OOSMS (medical insurance), and social tax; apply statutory deductions

- Prepare and file Form 200.00, reconcile against tax authority records

- Know how to implement Astana Hub preferences

- Dealing with non-resindents and taxation

- Working with services under Civil Law contract (ГПХ)

- Close payroll monthly: accruals, vacation provisions, GL reconciliation, data prep for management reporting

- Calculation of unused vacation reserves

- Work with bonuses, benefits and other reimbursments

- Work with travel expenses and advance reports

- Allocate payroll costs by department and project, and answer finance team queries

- Support audits and tax inspections on anything payroll-related

- Answer employee questions on calculations, deductions, and certificates

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 3+ years specifically in payroll (not general accounting that happened to include payroll)

- Solid command of the Kazakhstan Labour Code and Tax Code as they apply to payroll, including current rates and thresholds

- Track record of filing Form 200.00 cleanly — no corrections, no penalties

- 1C: ZUP / 1C: Accounting for Kazakhstan, at a level where you can configure earning types yourself

- Attention to detail and willingness to own the number that lands in someone's account

- Fluent Russian and English

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience with payroll for a foreign entity (Ltd / LLC) and contractors on invoices

- Understanding of IFRS on employee benefits

- Payroll automation or system migration experience
