WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
As a Data Sales Director for Japan, you'll be at the forefront of ICEYE's commercial growth: hunting, cultivating, and closing data sales opportunities across the Japanese market. You'll build strategic relationships with defence, intelligence, and security customers in a country with deep roots in advanced technology and a growing focus on sovereign geospatial capability, driving adoption of the world's leading SAR satellite constellation.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own territory planning and execute end-to-end sales campaigns across Japan, from lead generation through to contract close
- Initiate and develop executive-level relationships with defence, intelligence, and security customers across Japan, directly and through the agency and vendor ecosystem
- Lead contract negotiations and deliver customised proposals in coordination with marketing
- Build and manage a healthy customer pipeline, accelerating adoption of ICEYE's satellite imagery data and products
- Work with partners to extend reach and identify new opportunities across the assigned territory
- Ensure long-term customer success and satisfaction within key strategic accounts
- Engage with Japanese defence procurement frameworks and government contracting processes (e.g. ATLA, Ministry of Defense) to position ICEYE effectively in the region
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must Haves
- Proven track record in a hunting sales role within the Japanese market
- Extensive existing customer network across Japan, particularly in defence, intelligence, or security sectors
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex contract negotiations and close high-value deals
- Self-motivated and able to manage a pipeline independently with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English
Nice to Haves
- Background in geospatial, satellite imagery, or Earth Observation sales
- Experience in Aerospace and Defence, consulting, or other relevant tech-focused industries
- Familiarity with the agency and vendor ecosystem in the Japanese and wider Asia-Pacific defence and intelligence market
- Understanding of Japanese sovereign defence programmes and procurement structures
