The Coordinator in the Curricula & Course Management Division is responsible for coordinating the course section build for sections with special requirements. The Coordinator will also develop the final exam schedule for each term, schedule group final exams, and serve as a Building Coordinator. Must have an extensive knowledge of university policies, procedures and practices, and be able to respond to a myriad of questions, problems and situations dealing with curricular and course scheduling issues. Also, this person will assist with the planning of the course offering each semester, as well as assist individuals campus-wide with Workday Student.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the scheduling of 200+ general-purpose classrooms for instructional space. Utilizes scheduling software to assign classes to classrooms while maximizing utilization. Serves as primary room scheduler for classroom instruction. (20%)
Responsible for the scheduling of 200+ general-purpose classrooms for general meetings, organizational meetings, examinations, Supplemental Instruction Leader sessions, etc. For all outside agencies, must work with the Department of Facility Services to complete a campus use agreement and coordinate a reservation. Responsible for all University-approved organizations' classroom reservations. Serves as primary room scheduler for events held on campus. (20%)
Responsible for coordinating course sections based on special requirements. Special requirements include, but are not limited to, the following: Residential College course sections, Study Abroad course sections, Dual Enrollment course sections, and working with academic departments on specific course section needs. (15%)
Prepares the final exam schedules and reserves classroom space for final exams for all terms (fall, spring, all summer, and intersession terms). Coordinates and schedules Group Final Exams. (10%)
Responsible for querying data regarding waitlist counts and the demand for seats in critical tracking courses. Assists departments in planning future course offerings based on the projected demand for critical tracking seats. Generates reports for and attends Course Scheduling Advisory Group (CSAG) meetings. This involves working closely with the academic departments and Office of Academic Affairs to identify course or curricular bottlenecks and work to alleviate scheduling conflicts for students. (10%)
Responsible for training the campus community on the use of Workday Student including, but not limited to, faculty assignments and section creation. Also assists with training the campus community on room scheduling/reservation software. (10%)
Serves as the Building Coordinator for Dodson Auditorium and Tureaud Hall. Attends all scheduled Building Coordinator meetings to stay informed on campus facility updates. Performs all required inspections on Dodson Auditorium and Tureaud Hall. Responsible for reporting all issues that require maintenance to Facility Services. (10%)
Supervises and trains student assistants, coordinates their schedules, assigns and reviews their work, and approves student assistant time in Workday. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor. (5%)
Additional Requirements
FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
