This recruitment will be used to fill 2 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) College Finances Student Coaches for the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFE) is seeking a College Finances Coach to help students and families navigate college finances and develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to make informed financial decisions. Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, presentations, and outreach efforts, College Finances Coaches educate students and families about college financial wellness topics, connect individuals with valuable resources, and support student success. College Finances Coaches participate in ongoing training and professional development that build communication, critical thinking, leadership, and career-readiness skills. This role provides opportunities to collaborate with a diverse campus community, gain experience in public speaking and peer education, and make a meaningful impact on student financial well-being.
No prior financial knowledge is required, and students from all majors are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided, and College Finances Coaches develop the knowledge and confidence needed before conducting appointments or presentations independently.
Pay rate for this position is $16.55 per hour.
Position Duties:

Preferred Qualifications:
• Must be available to work in person during the academic year and summer to support CAFE programs, including summer Launch orientation sessions, one-on-one appointments, events, and special projects. • Student employees are expected to attend required weekly team meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training throughout the academic year. • Work will occur primarily in CAFE office spaces and may also take place remotely, in classrooms, auditoriums, and other campus or community locations depending on program and presentation needs. • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Work schedules are determined based on student availability and departmental needs. • This position offers scheduling flexibility; hours are primarily scheduled during weekdays but may occasionally include evenings or weekends to support events, presentations, and outreach activities. • Must be comfortable interacting with students, families, staff, and community members in both individual and group settings.
