Position Summary
The Senior Brokerage Assistant supports the Broker in the management, retention, and growth of a specialized commercial insurance portfolio. Working closely with brokers, carrier partners, clients, and internal teams, this role is responsible for coordinating new business and renewal activities, managing account documentation, supporting brokerage operations, and delivering exceptional client service.
This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient execution of day-to-day brokerage activities, maintaining compliance with regulatory and carrier requirements, and facilitating seamless communication between clients, carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced insurance environment.
Location: This role will work hybrid out of our Hamilton, NJ office (200 American Metro Boulevard Suite 124 Hamilton, NJ 08619)
What will your job entail?
Key Responsibilities
- Support new business, renewal, and retention activities for a commercial insurance portfolio.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate submissions, proposals, policies, endorsements, invoices, cover letters, and other account documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assists the Broker with account strategy execution, client service initiatives, and business development efforts.
- Manage accounts throughout the policy lifecycle, including submissions, renewals, endorsements, policy administration, and servicing activities.
- Coordinate the marketing of renewal and new business opportunities to carrier partners.
- Maintain accurate client, policy, and transaction information within agency management systems and internal databases.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, carrier partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to requests from clients, brokers, and carrier partners and provide timely customer service support.
- Ensure compliance with carrier guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies while maintaining complete and organized documentation.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Compliance, Operations, and other departments to resolve servicing, invoicing, cancellation, and policy-related matters.
- Assist with operational reporting, auditing, record retention, and compliance-related activities.
- Analyze account activity and identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support client retention and portfolio growth.
- Support operational efficiencies and process improvement initiatives within the brokerage team.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) License, or ability to obtain within a defined period of employment.
- 2+ years of Commercial Insurance experience.
- Experience supporting accounts through the insurance lifecycle, including submissions, renewals, policy administration, documentation review, and client service.
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance products, policy structures, and insurance terminology.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients, carrier partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and insurance agency management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a wholesale insurance brokerage environment.
- Experience supporting Cyber Liability, Errors & Omissions (E&O), Professional Liability, Executive Risk, Management Liability, or other specialty commercial insurance lines.
- Experience supporting brokers with complex commercial accounts.
- Familiarity with submission management, carrier marketing, and placement processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to analyze portfolio trends and identify opportunities that support client retention and business growth.

The target hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25 per hour.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
