The Opportunity

As a Senior Sales Specialist for Control, Protection, and Telecommunications, you will join a high-performing team dedicated to the power grid's infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise to help clients optimize their operational technology through specialized services, maintenance, and systems integration.

You will manage a strategic portfolio of regional and national accounts, working alongside engineering experts to develop compelling, tailored technical proposals. This is a premier opportunity to drive business impact and represent Hitachi Energy in a competitive market, focusing on SCADA, protection relays, and utility communications.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Strategic Sales: Lead the sale of specialized services and maintenance solutions for Control, Protection, and Telecommunication systems.
  • Account Management: Manage and grow high-priority accounts at a regional and national level, serving as the primary strategic contact.
  • Consultative Advisory: Conduct technical assessments of the installed base to recommend upgrades and solutions that align with the client’s grid reliability needs.
  • Proposal Leadership: Coordinate the end-to-end preparation of complex bids and technical proposals, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
  • Independent Execution: Manage sales processes independently, solving difficult problems and navigating complex negotiations with limited supervision.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and review the work of junior professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Compliance: Ensure all commercial activities strictly adhere to internal guidelines and external regulatory standards.

Your Background

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory.
  • Experience: Proven senior-level experience in sales or business development within the Power Sector or heavy industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of Substation Automation, Protection & Control, and SCADA systems is desirable.
  • Commercial Experience: Minimum of 2 years of commercial experience, preferably in sales. Candidates with experience focused on proposals, bid management, or tendering will also be considered.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for customers.
  • Language Skills: Intermediate English is required. Native Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Availability: Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • Work Model: Hybrid work arrangement, with 1 day per week in the office.
  • Commercial Experience: Minimum 2 years of commercial experience, preferably in sales.

Background Screening and Security Checks

As part of the hiring process, Hitachi Energy conducts pre-employment background checks that may include verification of employment history, education, criminal records, and other relevant information, in accordance with applicable laws.

For certain roles—particularly those involving access to sensitive information, financial responsibilities, client data, regulated environments, or security-sensitive functions—additional or more comprehensive background or security screenings may be required. These may include, but are not limited to, enhanced criminal history checks, credit history reviews (where legally permissible), sanctions screening, or other due diligence measures aligned with the responsibilities of the position.

The scope and depth of any background or security review will be determined based on the nature of the role and business necessity, and will always be conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Candidates will be notified and, where required, asked to provide consent prior to the initiation of any such checks.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
