Vice President, Actuarial & Risk Analytics

Marsh Risk Analytics Solutions is seeking a Vice President to lead technical peer review on actuarial analyses, manage analytical engagements, and translate complex modeling into clear guidance for clients. Your primary responsibility will be reviewing lead analysts’ work and overseeing the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of client projects. You will also present findings to senior decision-makers, including CFOs, Treasurers, and other C-suite executives.

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced actuary, statistician, mathematician, or quantitative professional who enjoys evaluating complex analyses, developing colleagues, and connecting technical findings to business decisions. Actuarial credentials are highly valued but are not required.

We will count on you to:

• Own technical peer review on actuarial analyses. Review lead analysts’ data, assumptions, methodologies, calculations, model outputs, and client deliverables. Identify errors, challenge unsupported assumptions, evaluate reasonableness, and ensure conclusions accurately reflect the analysis and its limitations.
• Guide actuarial and statistical analysis. Oversee work involving Monte Carlo simulations, loss distributions, retained-loss volatility, and insurance program comparisons to help clients understand both expected outcomes and severe loss scenarios.
• Manage engagements from planning through delivery. Establish scope, responsibilities, milestones, and deadlines; coordinate analysts and client engagement teams; and proactively resolve data gaps, technical questions, and delivery risks.
• Support risk financing decisions. Lead the analytical delivery of Risk Finance Optimization and risk appetite engagements, helping clients evaluate deductibles, retentions, limits, premiums, and the financial trade-offs among insurance alternatives.
• Present clear, decision-oriented findings. Explain results, uncertainty, and financial implications to risk managers, finance leaders, and executive audiences. Develop presentations that connect technical analysis to the decisions clients need to make.
• Develop analysts through thoughtful review. Provide specific, constructive feedback that strengthens technical judgment, analytical accuracy, project ownership, and communication skills.
• Improve how the team delivers work. Strengthen review standards, documentation, analytical tools, and workflows to improve consistency, efficiency, and quality.
• Contribute to client relationships and growth. Partner with colleagues to understand client needs, shape appropriate analytical approaches, and explain our capabilities to existing and prospective clients.

What you need to have:

• Six or more years of relevant technical experience in actuarial analysis, statistics, mathematical modeling, data science, risk analytics, or a related quantitative field.
• A strong foundation in probability, statistics, and quantitative modeling, with the judgment to evaluate assumptions, assess results, and recognize model limitations.
• Experience reviewing complex analytical work, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and providing actionable feedback.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate contributors, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work against deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and their business implications to nontechnical audiences.
• A collaborative approach to problem-solving, accountability for work quality, and an interest in coaching and developing colleagues.

What makes you stand out:

• Actuarial exam progress toward ACAS or FCAS, or an earned ACAS or FCAS designation. Other actuarial credentials, including ASA or FSA, are also valued.
• Insurance experience, particularly in property and casualty, loss modeling, insurance program evaluation, or risk financing.
• A consulting or advisory background, with experience managing client engagements and translating analysis into practical business guidance.
• Experience with stochastic modeling, Monte Carlo simulation, predictive modeling, or retained-loss analysis.
• Experience presenting analytical findings to senior executives and responding confidently to questions about assumptions, results, and uncertainty.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $115,500 to $245,900.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
